Well my u/s went really well. The girls are doing great, both are head down and have the same amount of amniotic fluid. Baby A weighs 5lbs 7oz and Baby B weighs 6lbs 1oz! I'm so glad they're a good size. I can't believe I'm carrying around over 11 pounds of baby.

Now for my doctor vent. All he did was go over the u/s, which we already knew b/c the tech told us everything. He didn't examine me at all or even see me in the exam room! He talked to us in the waiting area! He halfway answered our questions and completely ignored my question about continuing to work. He asked if I was having any pre-term labor symptoms and we told him about my contractions, the cramping, and the increasing pressure. He didn't say anything. He didn't ask about my contractions, if I was still taking my meds or anything. I thought that maybe since I'd been having so many symptoms that he would want to check to see if I was dilated or effaced, but no. I asked him if they would check my cervix at my next appt. and he said no, that they only do that if there's a problem. What? How are they going to know if anything is changing or progressing? My DH asked when they would induce me and he said that they wouldn't let me go past my due date. What? You're going to let me go to 40 weeks with twins? He also said that he didn't like to induce with twins, that they would probably break my water first and see how I progress then. He completely contradicted what the other doctor said that I saw 2 weeks ago. I really don't like this doc. Thank goodness there are 4 other doctors in the practice. I don't want to see him anymore. The more I think about it, the madder I get. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That's total crap! I sure hope he didn't bill for the visit if he only talked to you in the waiting room. And this was actually a real OB appt, not just an u/s appt right??

I totally can't believe that he didn't check your cervix with your complaints and that he would even consider letting you go to 40 weeks!!! Man, I'd be fuming mad.

Sure hope you don't have to see him again and if you're really having contractions, maybe you can call and get in with another doctor tomorrow.

I'm mad for you too! Some people have no business working in health care! If you continue to have increased contractions, call and try to get in to someone else. . . or just show up at L&D!

sounds like this dr. has no bedside manner, as he wasn't even at your bedside in the examination room. I would immediately print out these medical articles and show them to him as back up for your desire to have them sooner.

He sounded like he was half listening... it may be a bit late to move on, but I would as you never know what else he is going to ignore or had ignored. If he's not competent to care for you as a patient, how competent is he at all??

The appt. was an u/s followed by a regular OB visit. I'm definitely not going to see him anymore and I hope that he isn't on call when I go into labor.

    Hey,

I had the same problem with my practice and I had to go through the same thing of seeing multiple doctors. I also saw an EVIL doctor who left me feeling very angry/pissed and unsettled. I felt with first time mom's or just in general that my doctor should have listened or at least pretended to listen to me.

I felt the same as you that the more I thought about the angrier I became. I got some great responses from lovely ladies on this forum who recommended I call the managing doctor to express my anger and my concerns regarding this doctor. And that is exactly what I did. I talked my practice the next day and talked to a nurse and told them I wanted the "head" doctor of the practice- basically the guy who owned it to call me, I got so upset when I talked to the nurse I was practically in tears.

When the Managing Doctor called me I told him How I felt and my concerns. I told him about feeling brushed off by his doctor and that he should be aware as well. The managing doctor worked with me and stayed on the phone with me for about 1/2 hour to answer all my questions.

I don't know if this will work for your practice but I think it might and never hurts to try.

    Good Luck!!

Sorry you didn't have a good appt. today. The dr. sounds like he wasn't doing his job today very well today, at least his bedside manner. I hope the next one is better. I'm sure he will induce you before 40 weeks too, I hope.

Sorry it was a bad visit. I think it was unacceptable to "see" you in the waiting room and ignore your questions.

My OB didn't check my cervix often either, because it was his belief that you can 'stir up trouble' if you do that. He'd look a little with the u/s though.

Anyway, I hope you get a different doctor next time!

Sorry your doctor was such a jerk! At least you know you won't see him again, so just try to let this go and stay positive for the babies!

Congrats on a good u/s though! Those are some healthy-sized girls -- you're a good baby grower!!
