The contractions have picked up and are more painful than I've ever had them before. Of course, this is my 5th pregnancy, and with twins. So I'm wondering if that's why they are so intense?

It seems I have a tougher time around the start of a new pregnancy week. It's like my body is adjusting to the growth of the new week.

I was up almost all night with a very heavy tummy, that felt so sore laying down. I woke up with painful contractions and had to get up. Laying down on my sides seemed to be causing contractions. I even drank some liquid to try and calm things down a bit, but I just could NOT get comfortable and the bh contractions would happen once in a while.

Do I have anything to be concerned about? Sitting down doesn't seem to give me many bh contractions, so I'm up sitting after a LONG night.

 I must say that this seems to be the most common aliment for twins mommy! I too have something very similar to what you have however i am still in my 27 weeks i have 11 weeks more to go!! i am on partial bed rest but i think i will change that to full be d rest ! my legs ache like crazy .. i feel like i am carrying stones all the time. I just cannot stand for more than 5 mins. going to the loo is a the biggest task!![

As per the doc, all this is very normal! my babies are super active inside and as they are getting weights on their bodies it's taking a toll on mine   She recommends the foll-
warm oil massage on both legs
wearing a maternity belt 24 hrs
    heating pad / heating bag!
    always drinking loads of water.
taking additional calcium, or one more banana.
    keeping feet elevated.
getting help to do everything else! i know this one is hard on you as u have kids to take care but do get all the help u can !!!

    hope these will help u
    happy and safe pregnancy :hug99:

For me they were more uncomfortable with my twin preg but maybe I just noticed them more since they started very early on. I would definitely give your OB a call if they are very painful and let them advise you on what to do. But for me, as long as they werent coming frequent or at regular intervals then it was just good old fashioned rest and liquids.

oh yeah - they've definitely gotten worse! i keep thinking i'm going into labor but then i go to bed and i'm still pregnant in the morning :). this is my 3rd pregnancy and i never had even one braxton hicks contraction with my first two so this all definitely scared me at the beginning. now i'm a bit used to them.

i've noticed that eating more protein helps as well. i'm drinking about 3 liters of water a day or more which tends to lessen the amount of contractions and just making sure to be sitting alot or lying down. if i wait too long between meals i get contractions as well.

    good luck!

  6. I'm 30.5 weeks, and mine are getting uncomfortable, too. I had to put the phone down and concentrate on one last night! I sometimes get 4-5 an hour, but then they peter off and stop by bedtime.
