Well, I just had a peri appointment and the babies weights are way off (to me). Baby A is 3 lb. 13oz and Baby B is 3 lb. 1 oz. My doctor is extremely conservative. She doesn't seem to be worried at all. She said that Baby B is still in the 21st percentile but I'm still nervous about the difference in weights. She wants me to come back in a week instead of two weeks like we normally do. Does anyone have a similar experience? By the way I'm 31 weeks and 4 days. Oh and 2 weeks ago their weights were 3 lb 1 oz and 2 lb 14 oz. I'm not terribly worried but only because she isn't. She never said it was TTTS and she said they both look really healthy. I am however running a little low on fluid. Is that normal for this time?

I am in a similar situation and I am sending you hugs and hope. My Dr. does not know if it is a sign of TTTS yet, however I will be going for bi-weekly NST's and US until she can ascertain what is the reason behind the diff in size. I was told that Baby A's Fluid is Normal/Low and Baby B's Fluid is Normal. Good Luck and keep me posted.

If the doc isn't worried then I wouldn't either. It sounds like they are adjusting your care to ensure you receive the correct preacautionary care and that is fantastic. There are alot of different reasons why there can be a discrepancy that are not bad (estimations could be off, they are about to hit a growth spurt while the other baby already has). Try to take it easy, fluid can be replenished by drinking tons of water and resting!

when i went in at 28 weeks, our boy was measuring 1300 gr and our girl only 980 (a diff of about a pound) and when we went back 4 weeks later, they are now within 100 gr. of each other, so it may not mean much if your dr isn't worried, i agree

I THINK that in order for it to be considered TTTS, there have to be several factors involved. One of course is their weights. I think that they also look at their fluid levels, (one must be a certain percentage higher than the other), and they also look at their umbilical blood flow. I don't really know much about it, but I have been trying to research it. I think you are right to not worry too much if your dr isn't worried yet. I hope things go well for you and keep us posted!

I know mine are b/g twins but when they were born there was 1lb 1oz in difference between them. If your doctor isnt concerned i wouldnt worry too much about it. Big :hug99: to you x

u/s are notorious for being off. if your dr is not worried i would not either. they said my boys were 7+ lbs at 35 wk u/s at a very sophisicated u/s by my peri. They ended up being 5-8 and 5-13 5 days later!

    Hangin there!

Don't worry too much there can be a margin of error with u/s measurements and there are many things they look for with TTTS. Not only would one baby be much smaller, but both fluid levels would be way off. One would have too much and the other not enough.
