Hi, Somewheres around 22-23 wks. I was diagnosed with having polyhydramnios (too much amniotic fluid in baby A's sac) the normal level is to be no more than 8 and no less than I think it is 2 or 5 (more than likely it is no less than 2) well when this 1st posed a concern to my specialist the fluid level in baby A's sac was 8.6-so they started monitering me every 2 weeks when I came back for the following 2 wk. appoint the level went up to 9. something. So at that time they were concerned if I had gestational diabetes because my bp was fine so that was not the cause for the high levels of fluid. So I had the GD test done at my o.b. and the 1st test I failed the # that I had to be below was140 and my # was 148. Because I failed only by a few pts. they had me to come back in the following day they had me to fast eating nothing after 12 midnight. When I took the 2nd test I past my number was 125 so they concluded that it was the food that I ate right before that interferred with he 1st test. So at the next 2 wk. appoint. at the specialist they were really wondering what was going on when the fluid levels had risen above 12. So they continued to watch and he conforted me by telling me that it was better to have too much fluid than too little and he also told me that everything on the baby was functioning at the same rate as the other their weights were only 2 oz. apart and their hb were normal kidneys and bladder functioning well.Well today I went in for my 2 wk. appoint. and guess what.....the fluid levels had normalized. Baby A 6.1 and B 5.6 and now my babies weigh..A-3lbs. 5 oz. and B 3lbs. 2oz. The drs.as well as the sonographer was amazed about all of this. Now i see my specialist on a weekly basis because I now only have 6-8 wks left. How did this all happen- my only explanation is that I remained calm trusted that babies would be o.k. and continually asked God to normalize my babies fluid level.
