    Hi everyone,
We're expecting our Di/Di twin girls at the end of October!! (Yeah!!) I'm 30 weeks 5 days today and just met with my OB and they have me down as having lost 4 pounds since last visit 4 weeks ago (I'm 5.6 and weigh 137 lbs, have gained 20 lbs so far)

My Dr doesn't seem worried since I had my last ultrasound 2 weeks ago and the babies were 2.9 and 2.10 lbs and looked good. I'm on bed rest now (for the last 2 weeks) so I'm just hoping it's due to muscle loss since I still have a big appetite!

Just looking for reassurance I guess from those in the know! (aren't we all??!) I'll feel better in 2 weeks when I have my next ultrasound and can see that the babies have grown.

Anyone else lose weight or stay the same at this stage?

    Thanks

I am 32.4 weeks and haven't gained any weight in the last three weeks. I too am on bed rest. I asked my doctor today about it and he wasn't concerned because both babies are measuring 4.5 lbs each. He said that sometimes when you aren't up and around you tend not to retain water weight and also the babies are taking everything they need first; we get what's left over, if any. I have been drinking boost drinks twice daily to try and put some weight on me and the babies but it hasn't affected my weight yet. I think you' re OK, just try to eat things that have a lot of protein in them since your appetite isn't what it was previously.

If ur doctor doesn't seem worried then I don't think there is reason for you to do so either. Besides, I believe that as long as the babies are gaining weight that's all that matters.

I have my 30th week visit on Monday and I don't seem to have gained weight either. Just looking forward to seeing those babies gain the weight. :)

I have gained 31 pounds and put it all on in 18weeks and in the last 3 weeks have only gained 1 pound. My babies were both measuring big at 19.5 weeks so I can only assume it went to them and to their future milk supply :) My Dr. was a bit concerned that I put it on so fast despite the fact that I eat very healthy. Now I am just transferring it all to the babies!! I was on bedrest with one of my singles from 29-37 weeks and only gained 2 pounds during that time and still had a very healthy baby! Just keep eating healthy and drinking lots of fluids and try not to worry!!

Well I am a bit different than you ladies. I am 5' 8-9" tall and started out at 143lbs and delivered at 35 weeks on the nose weighing in at just about 200lbs...BUT I had major water retention and swelling because I had pretty bad pre-eclampsia.

Anyhoo, I wanted to ask you a few things...

Do you think you've not gained or have lost because you just feel like there is no room for food?
I know when I was pregnant eating was difficult because I just felt like there was absolutely no where to put it, ESPECIALLY once I got into the late second trimester and it got really bad during the last trimester.

If it's an appetite loss thing and if you are wanting to gain weight for your own peace of mind have you thought about protein shakes like glucerna or ensure?? Those are great to have (I liked and lived off of the chocolate flavors) and while they don't replace all of the nutrients and calories your body needs they do help by providing some. The best part, because it's a drink (at least for me) it didn't FEEL filling, it was like drinking water.

I don't know, something to think about.

But having said all that, if your doc ain't worried than darlin' you are doing just fine! :D

And congrats on your pregnancy and making it to those wonderful last few weeks. Keep cookin' baby, the longer those lil ones stay in there the better for baby AND mommy!

Update - had my ultrasound this week (32 weeks) and babies weigh 3.14lbs each so I'm pleased to see that! My Dr is happy too and wants to get me to 38-39 weeks! Still hanging in there.
    Thanks everyone.
