30 week update

Hi girls,

Just wanted to give you all an up date as I lay here STILL in the hospital. Pretty much stable right now. Here's the scoop-

- cervix 3cm
- funneling is now opened up to 1cm dialted (but was like this last week too)
- baby a weighs 3pd 12oz and baby b weighs 4pds
- they said if I stay stable like this---- I will be discharged in two weeks- then I'll be 32 weeks.

Ok, so for all of you that have been following my posts ya know I've been here for almost 7 weeks now.
They said I may get discharged in a fews weeks- I know a lot could happen from now until then....
but my questions how would you feel about that??? Of coarse I want to go home!!! But I also want to do what is
best for the babies! So basically I'm following Dr.'s orders of coarse until they give me the ok. But my whole
family kind of wants me here in the hospital. It's hard being away from my family and home life. I want to be
off bed rest too!!!!! But I know I can't. So the best advice I think for myslef is to follow Dr.'s orders right??
So if they give me the ok to go home, go home right??? When I get home being preggos and all I know I'm going
to be walking on egg shells too! Anyway sorry to babble on. I want to do what is right. In my heart I'm listening to
my body and the Dr.'s. Being here for 7 weeks, I've been stable pretty much except for having contractions a little
when I was sick with a cold and another time from the steriod shots they gave to mature the babies lungs.

Over all I wish I was hopping around like I was with my 1st pregnancy and labor went well-

I know you must be going crazy at the hospital. If you have the chance to go home, it must be because your doctors think it'll be okay. I guess you just have to follow orders and stick to the bedrest, right? I feel for you, Lisa

 

I would feel safe with those weights and that gestational age. They are delivering me at 33 weeks....still here in the hospital too...thanks for being a friend - it is nice to have something in common -hospital bed rest- with someone. I will post tomorrow growth scan...we'll see how big they are.

 

It is great that everything is stable and the babies are getting big. I would say that what the dr thinks should be best for the babies. I know it is scary to think about what might happen, but being home would be great too. Good luck and hang in there.

Hmm, not sure. I sometimes wonder if I was not sent home and was made to stay on hospital bedrest would my babies have not been born so early. I'll never know, but I do wonder. Personally from going through all that, I wish they would have kept me in the hospital, at the time I just wanted to go home, but maybe it would have given me some more time. I would actually say to stay in the hospital until 34 weeks, I know it's hard, but having preemie babies in the NICU is not much fun. Hang in there, you are doing great. :hug99:

 

Do what you feel is right in your heart. If you feel more comfortable in the hospital than I would say something to the Dr. Your babies should do pretty well by 32 weeks but 34 weeks would be better. I was only at the hospital 2 days and I really wanted to go home so I can't even imagine how you feel. Your very strong! Keep up the good work!

Did you already set your c-section date since they said they want to deliver you at 33 weeks?

 

Thanks for your replies. I'm going to go with what the Dr. thinks and go from there. The hospital
is 15-20 away. Could be an hr if it's traffic time here in Atlanta. So we'll see what he says. My Mom
and husband will be near for me as well. Hopefully all will work out for me to get home for a little before
I go into labor. But I'll do whats best for the little one. Thanks girls.
