We had another ultrasound/biophysical yesterday and it is unchanged. Which is good news, I would have preferred an improvement but atleast she is not worse! Our Peri told us he thinks this was good news but to definitely expect these babies to be born soon. He told was to come up with a goal (goals are important, he says!) so we came to a goal of 33 weeks. He thought it was an unrealistic goal and so we changed to 30 weeks. Finally a realistic goal. I am hoping that they make it to atleast 31 weeks! The birth of your child/children are supposed to be happy and exciting, but I am very sad and nervous over the twins birth. These babies are gonna be here in about 2 weeks. Only 2 more weeks! I am praying that they both gain a good bit of weight in the next 2 weeks (I know, I know) Thanks for listening!

Sorry, I can't remember, did you get the steroid shots? If not, I'd ask for them. Keep in mind weight really does not have a lot to do with how well they do outside the womb. My Emilie was under 2 lbs and she never had any big problems once she was born. It's more how their lungs are and their breathing is. I know it's scary to think of these babies coming so early, but keep in mind the NICU can do wonderful things with these little preemies. There are many success stories here at TS from those of us that have had our twins early. Hang in there.

Geez! Sorry that your doctor put such a damper over your goals. I've learned that though Drs are wonderful, they are not omniscient. I was never expected to make it past 25w when I was admitted to the hospital at 22w3d. Here I am 31w1d and still, as an ungrateful child, still praying for 4-5w more of pregnancy and for a safe delivery of 2 healthy children. Keep up the faith and a positive attitude. I'll keep you in my prayers!

I have been told since I went into PTL at 28 weeks that I would have them "any day". Here we are 6 weeks later and my cervix has only shortened by .5 cm. I have been dilated at 1 for 6 weeks and no babies yet. Sounds like your doctors will be ready if they do come early, but don't give up hope that they might stay in and keep growing! Good Luck!!

Hang in there. Doctors have way of underestimating the powers of Mothers! Lots of luck.

Don't let the pessimistism get you down mom! Mom's are like tea bags you don't know how strong they are until they're in hot water! Hang in there, your doing great!

Do get the steriod shots! I got the shots about 28 weeks. When the girls were unexpectedly born at 30 weeks Jo did great!! She was never on a vent, just the nasal cannula for a few days at a low oxygen level. She just had to learn to eat and hold her temperature. Jo came home after a very uneventful NICU stay of only 28 days at just about 4 pounds.

Keep them in as long as you can, and while not all NICU experiences are as easy as mine, it can happen!

Keep holding them in there! Set your own goals, even if its just a few days at a time and I am sure your goals will be met :good:

My dr also told me that he expects me to delivery around 30 or 31 weeks. I am 28 weeks right now, and that scares the crap out of me!! I am a little more optomisitc. I think I will go father than that. But then again my dr ONLY does mutiple pregnancies(twins, or higher) sooooo i know he knows his stuff.
