30 week apt update

I had my 30 week apt today! It went well, except for the fact that I gained 6.5 lbs. the past month. LOL...I'm sure the holidays had NOTHING to do with that! She told me just to "watch it" b/c I've already gained 34 lbs. during this pregnancy. My body has NO problems gaining weight, hence the weight issues I've had throughout my life.

Anyhow...I went ahead and told her I have decided to do a repeat c-section. She will be letting the hospital know and they will be calling me with my "date!" It will be no earlier than March 12. So, I only have 9 more weeks! WOW!!

BP was good at 120/80, urine was fine, baby's heartbeat was 139. I'm only measuring 28 weeks. The dr. said she wasn't concerned and that was "normal." My last apt, at 26 weeks, I was measuring right at 26 weeks, so I was suprised that I only measured 28 weeks (when I'm at 30 weeks).

Is this "normal" for a singleton pregnancy? I'm sure it's something they will keep their eye on. ANyone else measuring small for their gestation? Wonder if I'll just have a small baby (like 6 lbs compared to 8).

Anyway, I"m just glad it was a good apt. At this point with the twins, I was just put into the hospital, on terb, getting the fFn test, steroids...the whole deal. Little bit different this time around

 

WOW Becky, I cant believe your 30 weeks. You passed a big milestone !! WOOHOO. I have no idea if its normal to measure behind but if your doctor isnt to concerend about it I would try not to be. Only 9 more weeks and you will be holding your new little princess. WOOOHOO!

I went searching online about measuring small and it gave about 3 main reasons that a person could measure small. One was incorrect gestation (which is not he case with me b/c my periods are like clockwork, so there is no question about that), second was just the baby might just be smaller physically (which would be the difference in a 6 lb baby rather than an 8-9 lb. baby) and third was that you normally measure smaller when the baby is breech (or laying transverse). Which this baby has been breech from the get-go. So, after reading that, I can see why she isn't really concerned. My twins were gestationally small for their age too. At 34 weeks, REagan was only 3#14oz. (which she wasn't even on the growth curve for that gestation) and Morgan was on the growth chart, but only at 4#8oz. So, I have a feeling this baby won't be a big baby, plus she is breech.

I know, I'm SO excited to be at 30 weeks! What a HUGE relief!!! I can't wait to pass 34 weeks...that will be HUGE for me and "unchartered" territory so to speak! Only 9 more weeks and I'm SO not prepared...lol!

 

yay...glad is all going well. I'm surprised they cautioned you about the weight..you aren't doing THAT badly...weight gain tends to slow down the last 4 weeks...so not too much longer! If you remember I measured small the last 8 weeks or so. At one point I was actually 4 weeks behind in measurement. If they get concerned they'll probably do a growth scan just to make sure the baby is okay.

It sounds like a good appointment, Becky! I go for my 30 weeker tomorrow. I'm a little worried to see my weight gain this time as well. I keep waiting for them to say something about it!
