Well, first off I had my 3-hour glucose test last week on Thursday. I have been told before that no news means that everything is OK, but I would think since it is a follow up to the 1 hour that they would call with results... Not the case though!

I have posted concerns about my OB in the past, and have wanted to change since I was about 18 weeks... Here I am at 23 weeks stewing about the fact that I have heard nothing from them about my results and I finally decided today was the day to request a referral to another doctor. I had called the recommeded Peri office to find out how to do this, and they said it shouldn't be a problem since I am expecting twins and they are the ones that normally are called in a multiple pregnancy. They also said I would need my current doctor to refer me. When I called today I simply told them my name, and requested a referral. The response was for what, and I said that I am expecting twins and since there can be challenges during delivery I felt more comfortable delivering at a hospital with a NICU. She said, well, have you had any problems, I said no, but I do have concerns since twin pregnancies are high risk. Her response was wait until your next appointment! I am furious! I feel like every time I call with a question or issue they blow it off! I told her that by that time I would be almost 26 weeks and was concerned that may be late to change OB's... What do you all suggest?

I love my OB, he is so awesome!! They aren't exactly great with reporting results to me either, but they stay extremely busy. I always try and call for the results... but you are right, usually no news is good news.

Call back and demand it. Tell them if you need an appointment to do it you need an appointment for today or tomorrow. That's ridiculous to ask if you've had problems so far. That's the point...you are trying to catch it before there are. Sounds like you talked to a front desk person. Ask for a personal call from the doc or a nurse and be demanding. You are paying them. I get so sick of these offices acting like they are doing us a big huge facor by accepting us as patients. (obviously have my own issues with my own OB office)

I would call back and fight for a change too. I was seeing midwives (who told me twice that it was DEFINITELY not multiples) when they discovered twins at my 18 week ultrasound. I had a gut feeling when I was there for the first several appointments and wished I had listened to that feeling. I was in limbo w/out an OB for a month during the transfer to another office. I was seeing my peri for ultrasounds, but I had no one to check up on me. Fight for it!

Thanks! I am definately going to make some demands. I have had concerns about their experience with twin pregnancies for a while and have been more than a little frustrated about their laze-fare attitude toward the whole thing...
