I've seen people mention this. What is it? I need it...PTing is not going well here at all.

    Thanks

So far (~day 25), we have had wonderful success with this method!

I tried this method with my DS because PT-ing him was not going well at all. I won't say he was PT'ed in three days but within 4 days, there was a dramatic turn around in him using the potty. It's been 4 months now and he's doing great, dry all day and most nights he is dry too. The only things that are left for him to work on is to conquer his uneasiness with the big potty and public potties.

I did this too, we'd tried to do PTing our own way for several months and I finally realized I needed more of a full plan!

good luck! totally worth the money, time & effort!

We didn't buy the book but followed the general idea and it worked wonderfully! The best part, in my opinion, is that after three days you'll know that your kids are ready to be trained (because they WILL be), or you'll know you need to wait a bit longer, and will have only spent three days figuring it out.
I highly recommend following the techniques, throwing yourself into it for three days, and suffering the mess (and there will be a mess, I promise you!) It'll all be worth it!

Is this the method that you let them run around naked for 3 days to get the feeling? I can't tell from the website. I only see things about how great it works-not what the method is. My girls are almost two and have potties, but have not used them yet. I did get one of the girls to tell me she wanted to use it, got her naked (no fighting) and she sat on the big potty, but nothing....

The 3-day method (linked above) does NOT utilize naked training. The author insists that the first 3 days are spent in underwear and a shirt. One of the reasons I feel this technique worked so well for my kiddos is the fact that they learn to recognize their body's signals for pee or poop. You NEVER ask them if they need to go potty...instead, you remind them to tell you if they need to go. This approach always helps avoid power-struggles since it is THEIR JOB to tell if you if they have to go. Plus, my thought is that if someone (Mom, Dad, caregiver, etc) is taking you to the potty every 20-30 minutes, you never learn what it feels like just before you have to pee or poop. You would have a harder time becoming self-reliant.

Those last comments are just my 2 cents! There was a ton of work that went into those 3 days of potty-training, but it worked out so well for our family!
