 So I went into the dr and found that baby A was very low in my cervix which is thinning 40%. She didnt say if he was at a certain station but when I went into the ultrasound the lady had the wand on my vaginal bone trying to see the cervix which was "around his head like a hat". Then the other baby is head down now. Do you guys think the babies think its time to come out??? I am freaking out. I emailed my doc about the ultrasound visit and she said they look fine for fluid, cervix length (3.5 which is down from before by 1) and weight (2.5 lbs each). I am just scared that they are so low and that they are both head down that they think its time! Also I became extremely tired like it was back in the first trimester! Any advice or words of wisdom or experiences shared would be helpful! Thanks all!

If you're not contracting yet, I wouldn't stress out too much. Also, did they mention anything about decreasing your activity level? I swear the one thing that kept me going to 38 weeks (and 3 days, but who's counting) was being out of work and on my couch with my feet up. My DS was very low and his head was right at the cervix...we had trouble with ultrasounds too, but as long as I was not leaking fluid or contracting, they were fine with me. Take it easy as much as possible and (I think this sounds so impossible) try to remain as free of stress as you can. Good luck!

If you have time check out my pregnancy blog www.i-am-pregnant.com/JessH and scroll down to when I was at 29wks. I went to the hospital for 4 days, then stayed home on bedrest to 34weeks then ended up being induced at 37weeks. At 29 weeks I think I was 80% effaced and 2.5 dilated. At 37weeks when I got induced I showed up to the hospital 100% effaced, and dilated to 5 and NOT in labor. Anything is possible! try to relax, drink LOTS of water, keep those feet up, eat lots of protein and calcium! I also had the FFN test every 2 weeks. Oh and baby #1 was at 0 station! they could feel his head every time they checked me!

Fwiw, my babies are also both head-down and very low at 29 weeks and my OB didn't seem concerned at all. (Cervix length, etc., still good.) I don't have any thinning yet though so that might make a difference.

3.5cm length is awesome.  At 19 weeks, I was 3cm dilated and my babies were both head down.  DD's bag of waters was actually bulging into the birth canal and I made it to 31.5 weeks.  You're in good shape.  As long as your cervix is competent (and it sounds like it is!) then you should be good.  The babies are supposed to move lower and head down is great! ETA - It would be a good idea to know the signs of preterm labor just in case.  I think every twin mom should know them.  :)

Thanks all for the advice. I am currently on modified bedrest and get random contractions, cramping and back pain. Not enough to warrant going in to L and D. Every day I feel like they are just going to pop out of there because they are so low ! I am glad though that you all have made it! Thanks for sharing your stories! It does relieve some stress! :itwins_boys:

When I saw my OB at 29 weeks, he said I was 2cm dilated, that my cervix was 2cm and since both babies were very low and head down, admitted me to the hospital. I had steroid injections to help mature their lungs. I've been in the hospital for 3 1/2 weeks and nothing has happened. My first baby was born a few weeks early after a rapid labour and he's concerned that the same thing will happen again and I won't make it to the hospital.

I am sorry to hear that you are in the hospital! I am glad t hough that they are still in there getting bigger every day! My heart goes out to you. I am so worried that at any time they will keep me in the hospital. Every day it seems that they are getting lower and heavier to carry around. Its painful to just get up and go to the bathroom anymore! Ihope you are not too bored in the hospital. Do you have nurses checking on you a lot or just a little? ;)

Being admitted to the hospital was one of my biggest concerns when I found out I was having twins and when it happened, I cried. I have a toddler at home who miss like crazy. I'm happy the twins have stayed put though. I hope yours do too.

Did you have pelvic pressure when they admitted you? I woke up from a nap today and feels like they are pushing down hard.

I have being feeling pelvic pressure for about a month. Both of them are so low. I had an ultrasound this morning and Baby A's head is so low, the tech couldn't get decent measurements.

Nevermind I read you are 2cm dilated. I hope you stay that way for a couple more weeks! ;)

I was actually 3cm the last time was examined, but that was 15 days ago. So who knows what the status is now! I had an ultrasound yesterday and they are estimating that each baby is over 4lbs, so I'm much less worried than a few weeks ago when they were just over 2lbs.
