Just wondering if these are made to be the same size? Or is one longer or wider than the other? I know this is probably a silly question but I'm just curious if there is a difference?? TIA faith
If I remember correctly 2T is bigger than 24 months. Someone correct me if I don't remember correctly though.
I agree - 2T pants are HUGE on my two and they're almost 2.5 years old. Twenty-four month stuff is *theoretically* for 18-24 month olds while 2T is to be worn during your two year old year. It's so confusing, eh?
I think it depends on the store. Childrens Place only has 24 months, not 2T. At Target if you compare the 24M and 2T stuff (atleast the circo brand) the height/weight info on the labels is the same. I'm not sure why they bother having two different sizes! Alot of times I'll notice that at some stores the 24m tops are onesies with snaps while the 2T of the same top is a regular shirt, no snaps - kwim?
24 months are wider and shorter than a 2T. The 2T's are longer and slimmer. Also, 2T's don't have snaps as a general rule. I also found the regular 3's and 4's are narrower than 3T and 4T. My children never wore 3T and 4T in Gymboree because they were so much wider.
It really depends on the brand. Sometimes 2T is longer and slimmer, sometimes it's the same. For instance, I got a pair of the Kohl's Sonoma jeans in 2T, and they were too skinny and long for my girls. If you are at the store, I would hold the two items up and see which ones look more suited for your children's needs.
quote: 24 months are wider and shorter than a 2T. The 2T's are longer and slimmer. This is what I was told too. Brands vary so much too though. If you are comparing, to make it real, make sure the brand name is the same.
The 24 month size is supposed to be wider through the seat for a diaper allowance. 2T and up are slimmer and longer but still allow a bit of room for a pull up. The toddler sizes are more for the "potty trained" bunch. Of course, this is all in theory these days. It's like saying a size 10 in misses is the same as a size 10 in juniors.
2T is definitely annoying. It seems to be the most confusing size yet. My two have a ton of different brands in 2T size and none of them fit the same. Some to wide, some too snug, some just right, some too long, some just right. Uggg.
Pretty much what everyone else said is correct for one item or another. In truth, there's no real dependable difference. It's so frustrating.
