Hi all, had a u/s Thursday Sept.13, at 24 wks 1 day, baby a (girl) has 2.8 fluid B has 8.4 fluid. They are treating as though membrane on baby a ruptured and I am in the hospital until the babies r born. They can't get a positive amniotic fluid test due to the bleeding I have been having all along. They can't do a dye test as there isn't a big enough pocket of fluid around baby a. We are praying that we can keep them cooking as long as possible. I am receiving antibiotics and daily NSTs and 2x a week bpps. Please pray for us. I am drinking tons of water, but wasn't sure that this would help regenerate some fluid around a? I am including my email for anyone who has promising stories or advice. I am keeping my laptop here at the hosp. to stay sane.
Thanks, and good luck to all you mommies out there.

I am so sorry about what you are going through!! I am in the hospital on bedrest as well, for different reasons, and know how stressful all this can be. But I wanted to share a story that some of the nurses have shared with me. One of the 'long timers' that was in the room I'm in had PROM of her baby a (it was twins too) at 19wks. She was in the hospital until almost 27wks. She delivered at 26wks and some days (I don't remember right now) but her babies did great. They kept those babies in for 7 weeks!!

Also, have they given you the steroid shots? Get those if not!

If you need anything, I'm online a lot right now. PM me at any time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and the babies.

Oh man. My heart goes out to you, as a long hospital stay can be so daunting. Just rest assured that your babies are getting all the attention that they need and deserve there. Keep your chin up. There are so many positive stories out there; I hope some can come and share.

I'm so sorry you all are going through this. We'll be keeping you in our prayers. Drinking lots of water is often a suggested treatment for helping to regain amniotic fluid, especially with TTTS, so I'd keep doing that if I were you.:hug99:

Wow, sweetie, I am sure this is all very overwhelming but at least you are in good hands and they will do everything they can to make sure they bake as long as possible. You and the babies are in my prayers and sending you lots of hugs. Keep us updated! :love0028:

Sorry you are going through this... I did have a friend with very low amniotic fluid... she went on bedrest, and really worked on staying hydrated...her fluid levels came back up...Hopefully yours do too. Sounds like you've been through a lot this pg...I've had bleeding too and it's defintely nerve wracking... Hope you hold those babies in for many more weeks...but take it one day at a time. To encourage you on that too...my friend delivered her dd at 25 weeks this past January due to incompetent cervix. Her dd had no steriod shots....no prep or anything... She did miraculously well, was out of the hospital with no setbacks in about 9 weeks. So happy stories can and do occur even as early as 25 weeks... keep your goals short term so you don't get discouraged!

Sending lots of prayers and babies stay put vibes. My fluid was not that low, but I did regenerate fluid by drinking tons of liquids.

Tell everyone to stay put! I'm sorry you'll be in the hospital for so long; I did 3wks or so of hospital br with DD1 and it could be so lonely. At least you have us here at TS!
We're rooting for you and sending prayers! :hug99:

Kristen, I am so sorry that you're going through this. You and your babies will definitely be in my prayers. I also wanted to let you know that I know of someone who was pregnant with twins and one of her babies had a rupture at around 22 weeks. She was then put on very strict hospital bed rest for the duration of her pregnancy. She ended up giving birth at 34 weeks and both babies did great (I believe just a short time in the NICU but no major or long-lasting issues).

I can't even imagine how difficult this is for you right now but please know that many people are praying for you. Also, you're in the best possible place you can be for those precious little babies. Please do keep us posted on how you're doing in the upcoming weeks.

First of all, many prayers are coming your way! Secondly, I was told my Baby A had NO fluid and I was hospitalized at 28 weeks. They referred to her as the "stuck twin" because she was literally stuck with no fluid around her. My twins had Twin to Twin Transfusion Syndrome which is not possible with yours because yours are not identical BUT I was told amniotic fluid is made up of the baby's pee. The more I drank, the more the babies peed, the more fluid they made. Drink as much as you can and remember, one day in your belly is the same as 3 days in the NICU so every single day you keep them in is 3 less days they will be in the NICU. I was in the hospital for a full month during my pregnancy so I know it is a very very hard time. My thoughts and prayers will continue to be with you. Keep us posted and think positively! You are doing an amazing job!!
