24 hour urine collection question

    For Pre-E, does the 24 hour urine collection container need to be kept cold? My doctor told me everything else but didn't specify that. A friend told me when she collected for kidney stones, she had to keep it cold.

    Yes, it needs to stay cold. I wrapped it in a plastic shopping bag and put it in one of the bottom drawers of the fridge.

    Yes - I just got finished doing two 24-hour collections. It needs to stay cold, because apparently when the urine gets warm, bacteria grows and that bacteria excretes its own protein....not good for measuring your levels.

    Good luck with the collection.
