Oh goodness, is it normal to measure this far ahead? I'm 23w2d and measured 32w this morning at the Ob. At 19 weeks I measured 27, so the growth rate seems to be the same.

Two weeks ago, both babies weighed 15oz and were in the 53% for their weight, so I don't think they are too big yet (but I am diabetic, so that is a risk).

Contractions are coming more often now, 4 this morning before the appointment (even had one as Ob was checking their hearts via u/s). Cervix was nice & long (over 4) at u/s two weeks ago....anyone know if the contractions come more often because my uterus is so big now? Ob said I don't need to go on bedrest, but "take it easy" and call her if I have contractions more often than every 20 min.

Ob & Peri want the babies to get to 38 weeks. Can that be done, measuring this far along already? I can't imagine how big the belly is going to get, lol :woah:

Hi there! Congrats on your twins!! I believe with a twin pregnancy you measure 8 weeks or more farther along than a singleton. At 23 or 24 weeks I was measuring 32 weeks as well. I am a contracting machine, I did it with my first two children and now at 25 &26 weeks I have been in the hospital to be monitored. My uterus is very irritable and I'm sure with two babies it surely doesn't help. Hoping to find a combination of meds that will keep them slowed down. I'm on Procardia and Terbutaline right now. My cervix checked out good at over 4cm and the fFN test was negative.
I too often wonder how can my belly stretch anymore and how big will it get...lol! My belly is so tight and starting to get uncomfortable. Take care!!!!

Hi there! Congrats on your girls! I wanted to let you know I always measure 8-10 weeks ahead. At 37 weeks (the week before I delivered) I measured 47 cm. My babies always measured big, but they either miscalculated my DS's fetal weight or he just ran out of room to grow because he came out at 5.4 and my DD was 7.2. Both were healthy though so you never really know about those weight guesses, your babies might be bigger then you think. Good luck!

What kind of twins are you carrying? I had di/di so while I was an ELEPHANT at 30 weeks, here, my boys were only 6 lbs 2 oz & 5 lbs 7 oz. I'm convinced that both placentas + all of the amniotic fluid made me huge.

Totally normal! There were some appts that I was measuring 6-8 weeks ahead and that I'd go back the next week and only be measuring a few ahead. It can have a lot to do with how the babies are positioned.

I was wondering if that might be the case. Baby B is head down, but A is breech. I can feel her feet jumping off of my bladder and her little head bumping on my ribs. It's as if she's standing straight up in there

I was measuring 12 weeks ahead at my last appt at 27 weeks (I was measuring 39 weeks) and having a lot of contrax. I would say to try to take it easy when you are feeling them. And if you feel you are getting too many to call your dr. My babies weren't very big when they were born but were positioned in A vertex and B Breech which I have read can cause you to measure a bit bigger.
