23 w OB appointment

    I just went to my OB today (he did a quick u/s to just see h/b's... the boys look good and my Cervix is unchanged) but the surprise of the appointment was the Nuns have approved my tubal… For those who don’t know I am delivering at a Catholic Hospital and they don’t allow "sterilization"... my Dr was even shocked… my husband did the happy dance (even though I think we should both get “fixed” just in case…) My Dr said he has only got 2 other approved in 15 years… and one was a repeat cancer survivor and I forget the other… I think she was partially paralyzed… So for all you out there who found themselves delivering at a Hospital that doesn’t allow it, if you had any complications, you can ask your Dr to appeal to the Board of Nuns (or powers that be) I think my Drs argument was I had an incompetent Cervix (and proof was my needing a Cerclage)...
    Otherwise all is well and I get to see my boys again next week at the Peri…

    Glad you'll be able to do that. We delivered at a Catholic hospital, but they are much more progressive I guess. We had to "petition" but it was more a formality.

    yeah great appt! i never knew some places had that policy! do they do the tubal when you are having your c-section?

    Yes they do it right after the c-section… I wanted a tubal because I know I will always be nervous with my DH only having a vasectomy… I am the result of one not working 5 years after my Dad had one… when my mom was pregnant with me my dad got another one AND after I was born my Mom got a tubal…

    yipes! i think i might get that tubal too! :lol: if DH got that V after our last boy we wouldnt be able to be blessed with twins! that said; 4 kids under 5 is plently for us;) when i met him he didnt want ANY kids;)
