Hi Everyone! I have just now “come out of the fog” after five weeks! Sorry this is so late!!!

I went in to the hospital on August 27th to get induced if both were positioned favorably. However, Baby B was transverse so my doctor decided it would be better for the babies to deliver via c-section.

(Mentally I was prepared for a c-section - Baby B had been doing cartwheels in my tummy for 2 months!)

I am happy to report that I delivered healthy twin girls: Sophie and Sadie.

They were born within 30 seconds of each other so essentially have the same birthday down to the minute. They even had the same weight – 6 pounds and 2 ounces. Both were just over 19 inches in length.

My little girl, Sienna, has had a tough time adjusting to sharing the attention, especially since the twin's arrival coincided with the “static-cling-to-mommy-phase”. She has logged a thousand times more tears than the twins! But she is getting better and gives the baby kisses all the time.

I now truly understand why everyone says to try to do a vaginal delivery over a c-section! The extra two weeks of maternity leave for a c-section is absolutely necessary for recovery. My heart goes out to all of you who also have also endured this procedure or who will have to in the near future. Interestingly, I started having contractions about 20 minutes before going into the operating room!

Oh well... maybe next time… um, not! I am through with birthing babies!

When I was a kid, there was a show called “Eight is Enough”… I don’t remember the show since I was still pretty young… well, three is enough for me!  (those of you with more than three kids – a million kudos to you, I don’t know how you do it!)

Thank you to everyone for your posts during the pregnancy, it was SO helpful and I look forward to advice and opinions in the First Year forum! For those of you in your final weeks - hang in there!!! I didn't think I was going to make it, but I did through all the complaining, tears, frustration, and exhaustion!!!

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I really feel like every day is an eternity at this point, but it's encouraging that everything went well for you and you now have two precious little babies to show for it. Congratulations!
