Hello everyone I have been on strict bed rest for the past 2 weeks. I was still working!! Went in for an ultrasound and found out my cervix was 1.6 I was terrified!! I started weekly shots of Delalutin, a daily pill of procardia and received 2 steroid shots. It all was very overwhelming but I feel much better now. I see the Dr. once a week so far my cervix has not changed and I have not dilated thank GOD!!I can't tell you how much this forum has helped me!! Oh did I mention I made my first trip to L/D last week for food poisoning  but we are hanging in there and praying these girls stay put

Thanks for the prayers. I must confess that I've had many moments of self pity, followed by gult over my selfishness. I guess it is to be expected when one is on bedrest and has so much time to think!
I am still at the ospital and will stay until 34w, God willing. I will then be allowed to go home to continue my bedrest and hopefully beat the odds. But I am sovery grateful to have made it as far as I have already. I don't even feel like those next 4 weeks are very far away. Weird isn't it? LOL

I hope everyone is doing great and will keep you in my prayers!

I am just over 31 weeks and have been on modified bedrest for 3 weeks now. It has been going remarkably well considering! I was admitted to L&D at about 28 weeks with contractions, a cervical length of 1.9cm and a positive fetal fibronectin test. Luckily I only stayed in hospital for one night and have been home ever since. It has definitely been frustrating at times because I can't do anything for myself but it's worth it because I have already made it this far! Each day that goes by I cross off on the calendar to remind myself how great it is that the girls are still cooking. I hope to make it to 36 weeks when I can go off bedrest!

The worst part about bedrest for me is the hip pain from lying on my side. Anyone have any ideas on how to alleviate this pain?? It's driving me crazy.

Glad you are hanging in there! 31 weeks is great, just keep chugging away to those milestones! Are you instructed to only lay on your left side? I generally do recline on my left, propped up with many pillows, and then flop over to my right side for a part of the day. I guess I don't really know any one way to alleviate that pain, but when I start to get sore I do adjust either trying my other side or taking a rest to lay on my back, (my head and chest elevated with pillows). I feel like a beached whale flopping all around! Anyway, 3 weeks is a long way to go, I am going on 2 weeks tomorrow and hope to only have 1 more week. Hope the time goes by quickly for you.
