Had my 20 week us on Friday. Two boys (I will be the mommy of three boys). Anyway, baby B has a two vessel cord. I thought I read something about that on here, but I can't remember and I couldn't find it. The doctors are not worried. Anyone have any experience with this?

Also, my twins are di di. Does the two vessel cord mean they are not identical, for sure? Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the two vessel cord. I do know there is a chance that your twins are identical. Identical twins can be mono/mono, mono/di, or di/di, but fraternal twins can only be di/di. Here is a great diagram that explains it.

One of my girls had a 2 vessel cord. They just watched her to make sure she was growing well, etc. at all the ultrasounds. We never had any issues because of it.

I had mo/di twins, one had a 2 vessel cord with velamentous cord insertion (into the membranes rather than the placenta) - they also had TTTS. She is fine, but small - she stopped growing at the end, but i delivered at 38w4d.

my peri said that on its own, the 2 vessel cord isn't significant - but with our combination of stuff, we were monitored weekly. If you have di/di twins, that's great! and like pp said, they could still be identical. 30% of id twins are di/di.

we had a two vessel cord, no problems though, as said above, if its the 2 vessel along with other stuff then it can be a problem I think

Jessy had a 2 vessel cord. The baby needs to be monitored to make sure there isn't back flow

Thanks everyone. We are scheduled for twin growth serial us at 24, 28 and 32 weeks. Do you think any additional monitoring is needed?

Hi- I posted something earling about that. My baby b (girl) has a two vessel cord. Dr. said it was a "soft sign", meaning, if there is nothing else wrong, she will be ok. He said that other artery makes up for it. Today I see him again (the peri), and I'm praying everthing will be ok.
