For those of you who do 2 naps for your 7 month olds, what does your schedule look like? I can't seem to get my twins to stay awake longer than 2 or 2 1/2 hours at a time unless we are out and about running errands. So they still take 3 naps about 1 to 1 1/2 hours each. I would like them to just take 2 naps. Right now this is their schedule:

    7:00: wake, 6oz bottle, cereal/fruit
    8:30: nap
    10:00: 6oz bottle
    11:30: nap
    1:00: 6oz bottle, veggies
    2:30: nap
    4:00: 6oz bottle
    6:00 to 6:30: 6oz bottle, cereal/veggies
6:30 to 7:30: somewhere in this time they go to bed and sleep until 7am. If they wake up earlier, I don't go in and get them until 7am.

Does anyone have suggestions on how I can get them to transition to 2 longer naps? I'm in nursing school right now and it would be more efficient for me - that way I could get some studying done!!

We did 2 naps at 7 months and are still on the exact same schedule today. Here it is and my twins only stay awake 2 hours at a time.

8:00 Wake and breakfast of bottle, fruit, and cereal
    10:00 Nap
12:00 Lunch of bottle and veggies
    2:00 Nap
4:00 Dinner of bottle, veggies, meat, etc
    7:00 Bedtime

If my girsl wake before 8, I leave them in their cribs until 8. Same with naps - a nap is 2 hours whether they sleep or nap, they stay in their cribs. 99% of the time they are awake and happy when I go in to get them.

I'm not going to be much help. Mine just started taking 2 naps, from 3 at 9.5 months. They were just too cranky in the evening if they didn't have a short nap around 4:45, but it was difficult for me to put them down and try and get dinner started or take my oldest to dance class. I would suggest pushing their first nap to 9am then if they slept 1-1.5 hours and woke up between 10-10:30, they should be able to stay awake again, I would think, until 12:30 or 1:00. They may not be ready to give up that third nap right now. I know it's not easy to do, but they may still need it. I hope someone else can offer a better suggestion.

I like the schedule of the PP with a wake time of 8am. Right now, I leave them in their cribs until 7am. To stretch them until 8am, would you recommend that this be done over a period of several days, such as one day 7am, then 7:15am, then 7:30am, and so on? Also, it looks like I would be eliminating a bottle, so I'll have to try giving them a little more with the other bottles to make up for it. Do you think 30oz is enough? My 3-yr old was drinking about 40oz each day and eating ALOT by this age, but I think I overfed him and now he is obsessed with food. I don't want that to happen to these guys. Everyone says the baby will let you know, but mine don't. My boys will eat and drink and eat and drink all day if I let them. DD is pretty good about letting me know.
