2 Month Check Up

The girls had their 2 month checkup today. Genevieve is 10lb 6oz and 22.5 inches long. McKenna is 10lb 12oz and 21 inches long. No wonder she seems so much chunkier!

Then they got their immunizations (around noon today) and I was expecting grumpy, cranky babies tonight. But it's 7:15 PM now and they're just sleeping. Really sleeping I woke them once around 4:30, fed them, changed them, gave them more tylenol etc. Then they both went right back to sleep. I don't want to complain about such a mellow day (especially if the crankiness is coming), but is it normal for babies to sleep this much after their shots? They did get their first tylenol ever today and they've had 2 doses now.

Mine slept a lot after their first tylenol. I think it is normal. Great weights! Good job.

Hopefully this doesn't happen to you, but after my 2 have their shots they sleep like logs for the first night then it's a week of fussing and crying!

 

Those weights are great! Mine always sleep like a log after shots, so not to worry mommy. Great job!

 

Great job mom on keeping those babies so nice and healthy!!! B) My experience was that they slept the first day of shots and then the next day was crankyville. :angry: But it only lasted a day, so not to bad. I say expect the worst and then if they aren't you will be pleasantly surprised! Good Luck, hope you don't have cranksters!

 

Mine are either super mellow and sleep alot or fussing and refusing to sleep after shots...so be glad you are having a mellow day

 

Yeah, I think that's the night ours slept 4 hours for once! Totally normal I guess! Our babies are really close in size, my DS was 10lb 11oz and DD was 10lb 4 oz!

 

Mine are also pretty sleepy after Tylenol and the shots, 2 months and again at 4 months!

 

Mine are also sleepy after shots and meds. But they were cranky later on that day or the next.

Yes, it is normal. Did they give you a packet of info on the shots? My Pedi always did... and it explained in there that the sleeping could be worse or better...

Shots can make them drowsy... as can the tylenol. It always did with mine.

 

Amazing Weights! Mine always sleep for awhile after their shots. They get really worked out and I think it really wears them out. I wouldn't worry about it. Make sure that you rub any hard spots in their leg and move their legs as if they are riding a bike to help the immunizations get through them better.
