They are rolling and scooting all over the place! Sleep positioners and rolled up receiving blankets are no match for this duo.

When I put them side by side, one will flail his arms and hit the other on the head and wake them up. Same with SBS head to toe, but they kick their bother in the head. I have been laying them at opposite ends with their feet toward the middle like this: [o-: :-o]
"o" being the head, ":" being the feet, and "[" being the short ends of the crib.

It's a standard size crib, but they are movers and manage to get all over. I really wanted to keep them together because they sleep so much better that way. When I take one out, the other will wake up within minutes. We also have a breathable bumper to keep them from getting limbs stuck through the slats and so if they get their faces wedged next to the bumper, they can breathe.

    Any ideas?? TIA!!

When ours were tiny we put them side by side, in the middle of the crib. They liked to snuggle. When they got a little older we positioned them the same way as your drawing.

When mine got to that point, I separated them. They slept much longer when I did (at least at night). FWIW, that age is very tricky for sleep as it is. They may need a day or two to get used to sleeping alone. Is there any way you can push the cribs together so they can still see and sense each other?

ours didn't start sharing a crib until around 9 months and we just put them down at opposite ends of the crib without trying to position them much. they're so mobile now that no matter how we put them down they'll crawl together and get themselves positioned into a snuggle. we usually put them down and come back later to check on them and make sure no one's at an uncomfortable angle.

Mine slept side by side, usually with their arms around each other. I think they just became accustomed to the other one whacking them in the head occasionally, because I never had problems with it waking them up!

We separated them at 4 months for this same reason. They were waking each other up.

I had mine positioned in a V shape with their heads at opposite top corners and their feet at the front of the crib in the middle. I recently separated mine but when they go back in the crib together, I will continue to put them in the crib this way. That way, when they kick they just hit the others legs and if they move their head and arms they don't hit the other. It worked well for me up until a few weeks ago and I hope when I put them back together they don't have any problems.

 Your diagram made me laugh! Cute! I put my two side by side until they were 6 months and Jake started steam rolling Emma! At that point I separated.

Mine have been side by side, but I recently started having the same trouble as you. I use a crib divider now, they are still in the same crib (because they are still in our room and their room isn't finished yet) but they have the divider between them to prevent them waking each other up!

We started off side by side but quickly moved to a V shape because they are so tall. They wake up in the middle of the night and kick each other and the sides of the crib, but don't typically wake each other up. We're planning to separate soon. Good luck!
