how do you do it? Up until now I was able to have someone to go with m,e except for their 9 months but they didn't get any shots and that went great. Well their 12 months WBC is coming up and won't have another set of hands to comfort them after the shots. I am thinking of doing set of shots for Brandon one day and coming back next day to do Matthew's shots. Any thoughts?

BTW, this is my first post in second year, I am soooo excited, we are almost there, WOW!

i go by myself every WBV. LOL. i use an umbrella stroller to wheel one baby in, and hold the other baby.

we've always done one baby gets their check-up, then the other. i re-dress them and one baby gets their shot while the other is in their stroller. then i swap them once they aren't sad anymore and have stopped crying. :( they get their sippy with a nice treat of juice in it, etc. and their toy or paci and they are generally ok.
it stinks but once we are out of the office, are fine.

I've also gone solo to all of their appointments. My boys are quick to recover from shots and the nurses do it one baby at a time so you can soothe the tot that is crying and put them back in their stroller once they've calmed down and do the same thing with the other twin.

    You can do it!

The nurse is always a big help for me. The one year well baby was a little worse than the others because they also did a TB skin test and hemaglobin check in addition to all the shots. It was miserable and felt very chaotic and hectic. But we all survived. I think I would rather just get it over with and deal with the misery of it rather than breaking it all up into multiple visits for shots.

I too, do it alone. The nurses are pretty efficient at giving the shots quickly, and the lo's get over it just as quickly. A hug and kiss, and then an offering of a favorite comfort item (pacifier, toy, lovey) usually helps soothe them. I have used my cell phone in a pinch (a usually forbidden item) and that immediately stopped the crying! I like your idea of one appointment one day, and one appointment the next, but you don't really have to do that unless you want to. As the PP suggested, once they are out of the office they are fine.

We always schedule well-baby visits when DH can go with me (he works Sun-Thurs so we usually try to schedule them for Fridays) but if I had to go alone, it would be OK. One of my boys only cries for a minute after shots so if I were alone, I'd have them do his shots first and then Alex's so I can spend more time comforting Alex before packing up to leave.
