Finally, after waiting weeks and weeks I have a appointment tomorrow morning with a Maternal Fetal specialist. They called me today since they have openings tomorrow :D

Now that it's here - I'm so nervous!! All she said was be here 30 minutes early to fill out your paperwork, you don't need a full bladder or anything.

What do they do your first visit??

I went for mine just last week. Paper work of course, copy of insurance and DL. Then we went into the room, Nurse asked a few standard how has this pregnancy been, any other pregnancies or surgeries in your history. Sono and then after he explained everything to us we were out the door!
We were fortunate enough to have been given the green light and don't have to go back! I went 3 times with my singleton!

Good luck, oh and if you have someone along have them take notes and have a list of questions ready that have been on your mind!

All they did at my appointment was an ultrasound...no other blood work or even a blood pressure...

Since my twins seem to be sharing the same sac, I'm really nervous!! Maybe they will find two seperate sacs!! Wouldn't that be great!?

Oh finding out the sexes would be GREAT! I was just reading your post! Good luck, I guess I need to research the "shortened" cervix thing - who knew pregnancy could be so exciting/scary?!?

Do most peris have the 3-D machines? Or just regular ultrasounds machines?

Mine had a regular u/s machine… but its way clearer then my reg OB’s… not as grainy… but I hear with twins you have to do the 3-D earlier because they get mashed… but to wait until you have facial structure a little more…
Good luck, I hope you find out the sex… do you have any guesses… I was right on my guess of boys… and everyone else guessed girls…

At my peri the first appointmemt consisted of speaking with a genetic counselor, bloodwork , u/s then we just spoke with the peri about the plan. don't be nervous, it is just informative!

My first peri visit was at 12 weeks and I didn't go again til 18 weeks. Since then it's been every 3-4 weeks. At 18 weeks they did the in depth anatomy scan of all the organs, measurements, etc. They also look at the placentas for position and shape, and measure the cervix. The cervix measurement is to make sure it's not starting to shorten prematurely which can result in bedrest...It's hard to say what they'll do tomorrow, but I'm sure it will be very informative. I found out the genders at 16 weeks, hope you get that news too!!!

Let us know how it goes! I found out what I was having at 14 weeks, so you are definitely not too early.

And let's hope that they see a membrane tomorrow!!! If they don't, then I suppose your DH's guess of one boy and one girl will be a little hard to explain! ;)

Oh my! What a morning! We received good and bad news. Good news, both baby BOYS are measuring great. Bad news is the reason they haven't been able to see the membrane seperating them is because it has very little fluid in it and is "wrapped" around baby B. The peri felt confident we have TTTS. I'm devastated. They are referring me to Dr. Quintero. He is based out of Tampa General Hospital here in Florida. Amazingly I just watched a special about him and the ground breaking surgeries he preforms. I am hoping to hear from them today or tomorrow but who knows - back to the waiting game. The surgery has a 85% success rate but you have to meet strict guidelines. I keep you guys posted!!

Glad the boys are measuring good. Sorry to hear about the the news of TTTS. That is great you are being refered to someone who is well known when dealing with this. Hang in there *hugs*
