My lo's have a ton of hair. DS's is curly so it doesn't hang in his face and eyes, but DD's hair is super straight and it's like her bangs grow straight down instead of in a natural part like DS's. I've nipped the ends of her bangs myself once (I was so nervous I only cut a tiny bit!) but I still part her hair to the side and keep a bow in her hair. This looks adorable but the second she pulls that bow out it's in her eyes again.

When did you give your lo's their first hair cuts? They are only 9 1/2 months old so how in the world will I get DD to sit still for a regular hair cut? Where do you take them, there aren't any "kiddie cut" places around us. Any thoughts or anyone with the same experience?

    Thanks!

My oldest dd had her first haircut at 6 months old, her bangs were already in her face. She also didn't have a side part, it grew (and still grows) completely forward.

I had to continue to trim her bangs, and train the rest of her hair to go to the side. In other words, continually brush it to the side. Eventually the weight of her hair as it grew longer forced it to the sides. She has super thick hair like me, but it's still baby fine so clips/ponytail holders don't stay in, they slide right out. The only thing that stays in is the little bitty tight elastic bands.

Luke & Lila both had their first haircut early, but I still haven't cut any bangs for Lila. I learned with my older two girls, bangs are a real pain to grow out, so I just keep a bow or some other type of clip in Lila's hair to keep it out of her face.

My ds had alot of hair and we got his first hair cut at 11 months. :good: We could have done it sooner but the family  kept telling us to wait and I listened. :pardon: It was not the best experience but not the worst either. Good luck!!

Thanks everyone. I had bangs growing up (The super cool kind where you had to use a curling iron to curl the two different sections of the bangs. Why did my mother do that to me?) :) and I don't want DD to have them so it looks like unless I continue to trim them myself I just have to wait out the in between stage and try to train her "bangs" to fall to the side with lots of brushing, bows and baby rubberbands. Thanks again for the input!
