1st dentist visit was a HUGE success :)

I finally took the kids in for their first dentist visit today and it went perfectly :banana: Dd started crying as soon as we got out of the car, which I thought was interesting since she had no idea that most people don't like going to the dentist, lol. Ds said he would go first, he wanted to be on my lap in the chair and seemed excited. She started with looking at his teeth then counting them. He was very receptive so she showed him her tools and touched his fingers with each one first then went to town! He had his teeth scraped, cleaned with the swirling brush, flossed and rinsed out all with no fear what so ever :woohoo:
Dd sat and watched the whole time and then climbed right into to the chair after he was done. She did just as well!!!!!!!!!!! I was sooooooooo very surprised, I thought the first visit would have to be a quick look in the mouth.
I even took them to my regular dentist vs a pediatric dentist, dh thought I was crazy but I knew they could do it :drinks:

Another milestone down, I am one super proud momma today.

 

That is wonderful news! I'd be a proud momma too! I'm petrified of taking my boys to the dentist but their ped told me this year it needs to be done. So the search for one begins. This really gave me hope Kristi! :thanks:

 

Awesome! I was quite surprised at how well my two did the first time, too. I think holding them on your lap really helps. Glad it went so well! Oh and the prize box they have helps too.

That's great that they did so well!!! We go to a pediatric dentist and they get to sit side by side. I've already made Liam's first appt for April.
