Just wondering what everyone done/doing their LO's 1st B-day in.... My boys will be a year old on the 25th, but we are celebrating on the 21st. Any of you ladies familiar with Yo Gabba Gabba!..lol... my boys are obsessed.... I was the mom,, who said "my kids are never watching T.V."... but when you need that 30mins. of sanity you will do just about anything...lol... That's our theme for their birthday... Yo Gabba Gabba! For those of you who are not familiar.. Their is 5 main characters... A red, blue, green, pink and yellow ones... but we are not doing PINK,... I don't think pink should go with a lil' boys first birthday...lol... but they dont' make Yo Gabba Gabba decorations.. so I had to make them...and I have nothing #1 so I"m, making #1's off my c/p and printing them off and sticking them to the balloons... lol... Sorry for gabbing.. I"m so excited and also sad at the same time... it sure does go bye fast : (

Hi! I just started planning my twins' first birthday party, we are just doing pink/blue, prince and princess theme. I guess it's not really a theme, but it was hard for me to decide for a girl/boy. I was wondering what the heck Yo Gabba Gabba is - I saw a CD or DVD at Target and I thought what the heck? I will have to check that out if it's that entertaining! I could use 30 minutes of sanity! LOL

Good luck with the party, and congratulations on making it through the first year!!!

That is a great theme! Can't wait to see pictures. The boys LOVE Yo Gabba Gabba. Comes on when they are having their last bottles of the day. We are thinking of doing a Moose A. Moose and Zee theme. They can be in the middle of a huge fit, Moose A. Moose and Zee come on and they get happy as can, has to the voices or something. Figuring they don't make those either, good thing I have a creative husband if that is what we decide to do come March.

My kids love Yo Gabba Gabba! If you go on to the Nick Jr. website (or do a search for Yo Gabba Gabba party decor) they have instructions on how to make a DJ Lance Cake and cupcakes with the different characters. Plus they have print out decorations and invitations.
I was toying with a Yo Gabba Gabba theme but since their big day is right after Christmas, I would not have time to make the cute cakes, so I think we will stick with another favorite of theirs: Winnie the Pooh :) Good luck with your little one's party and share pictures!

If it is one of the main characters and the only reason you aren't having that one is b/c it's pink, that's just silly. There is nothing wrong with little boys and pink.

And to answer your original question, I don't like themes so my girl's just a "girly" bday but no characters.

we did elmo... had elmo cupcake cakes and everything....
    bad bad bad idea
the red icing was very unforgiving
it was everywhere (expected) but would not come off of anything it touched
makes you wonder what they make that stuff with... kinda scary
anyway, it was fun... but just a little word to the wise

Wiggle wiggle wiggle!!! Sorry, thats what my girls have been chanting ever since they caught an episode of Yo Gabba Gabba while we were getting ready to go out to dinner on Sunday.

Our birthday theme was a beach BBQ. They were born in March, but I still wanted to use that theme since we had their party at a local yacht club. The invites said "Our little pisces are turning 1... come in from the cold for some beach party fun!"

well when I ordered their cake yesterday I came across a sesame street themed one, so that became their theme. i found a round pinata that you can tape a mylar balloon to, and found a really cute baby sesame 1st birthday balloon and it just kind of came together.
