We're throwing our babies a first birthday party this weekend at the park and I'm trying to think of some fun things we can do with them...I realize that the 1st birthday is more for the parents celebrating "We did it!" but I"m still trying to think of things for the kids...like music? A parachute? some balls to play with? Bubbles?

I'd appreciate any and all suggestions...thank you!

The boys came down with pinkeye right before their birthday so they were the only little ones here. At our community easter egg hunt bubbles were a huge hit though. At a friends party they had their ball pit set up and a table with paper, finger paints, crayons, etc. Both of those activities went over well. Good luck and have fun!!

we had a lot of babies there (oatios on the food table and teething bisquits in the goodie bags are a must!), but they didn't play any games. we had a few games (ring toss thing, a drawing thing and something else i can't recall) for the 1-4 year olds and then a pinata for everyone else. it was mostly adults.

gl and happy birthday to the little ones!

oh sheesh, i just read the rest of yours and thought of all the stuff i'd left out--like balls to play w/(and a basketball net), bubbles, a parachute and a tunnel. however, no one ended up playing the parachute;).

All of your ideas sound great! Our kids were the only babies, the other kids were between 3-6, so we had more "big kid" stuff - a little pool, an art area, balls and other lawn toys, etc... Our party was at our house, so that makes it different, too. Our boys clung to us most of the time anyway.

we had big people food, and little people food.
no games just all the kids regular toys. We did have balloon animals and I hung streamers from the fan. That was loads of entertainment when I turned the overhead fan on an it spun around.

we blew up thier older brothers inflatable car and filled it with balls. also got out his little battery operated quad bike which they loved. we only had a small affair at home though, with just a few cousins and more adults than children. they spent the time playing with their new birthday toys and eating party food.
dont try to be too organised or too long though.
    have fun!

We set up a big play yard and filled it with beach balls (our theme was a beach party). The little kids loved playing in their 'ball pit'!!! For the older kids I had crayons and gift bags that they could decorate, stickers, and a bean bag toss game. Have fun at the party!
