So the boys are turning 1 in 3 months and I'm trying to plan in advance and was just curious what kind of parties some of you are planning, have planned or are thinking about planning.

    Thanks for the help!

When you get yours figured out let me know so I can steal your ideas! LOL Life won't slow down enough to let me plan anything. The boys caught my cold yesterday and today I had to take them to the pedi who said they had croup and gave them steroid shots. Their birthday is only 2.5 weeks away and I have no idea for a theme or decorations or anything! I did order one of their birthday presents yesterday though - a 9" sony portable dvd player for long road trips. Okay, that was probably more for mommy and daddy so that we don't have to listen to them whine, heehee :) GL with your planning, hope its more productive than my birthday planning has been!

BTW, does anybody know of any online sites that sell themed birthday party supplies (plates, cups, etc) at a decent price? I have received a magazine specializing in baby birthdays with some really cute themes, but their prices seem a bit steep!

You can try Oriental Trading. I know there are some others-Discount Party Supplies or something. I would search in google.

As for birthday ideas....When my boys turned one, we didn't do a commercialized theme(and probably saved a bundle!). My boys were using blue/green things to keep bottles/pacifiers seperate, so that what our "theme." Blue and green plates, silverware, tablecloths, balloons, napkins, etc. I made #1 sugar cookies and iced them blue/green. Here's a picture of the cookies: #1. We kept it simple, as the kids have no idea! We had dh's cousin do the food(owns a restaurant), and MIL did some food as well(she's Italian). We had about 80 people, so it was a good crowd!

We have Annabella's birthday party one month from today-129 people invited.... eek.... and I still have to think of a "theme" for her. Oy.

For DS#1's party, we did a huge BBQ bash for all of our friends. I did lots of finger foods too (it was a superbowl theme, actually). To cut down on the cost of decorations, I mainly just did solid colored plates and napkins and table cloths, and then just supplemented with a few cute themed items (the centerpieces and stuff to hang from the doors). Oh, and I got balloons too. Honestly, I will probably do something MUCH smaller for the twins. It was exhausting!

I like a cupcake theme - I have heard others in the FY mention it and it sounds really cute!! Or what about a "monster" themed party (cute, cuddly monsters of course)! But then again, that might be better for an older child. What about a train themed party? Or a jungle themed party?? At least you have 3 months to plan and research - have fun with it! I am already starting to think about my girls' 1st birthday party and it is 4.5 months away!!! I love planning parties.

vtlakey - I would recommend going to a crafts or dollar store and getting party supplies there instead of going to a specialty party supplies store where the prices will likely be higher. As for online discount party supplies, I am not much help! Good luck!!

We have b/g twins, so obviously this wouldn't work, but we had a prince and princess theme. You could always go for just "prince" if you wanted. We did a BBQ with our family and friends with a castle/fortress cake.
