1cm dilated, UTI- spotting, opinions please

Hey ladies~

Just wanting some your opinions please...I'm 29weeks and 4 days pregnant with twin girls.

On thursday afternoon I started spotting brown and woke up thursday night spotting pink red blood.

Went in to see the peri on friday and the girls look good. measuring a little over 1/2 a lb apart. They checked my cervix because of the spotting and said i was 1cm dilated. they then discovered i have a uti. dr. started me on macrobid on friday. still having the spotting some and my belly is so tight. I haven't felt well today- nausea and vomiting this morning. what do you ladies think??? should i call back in tomorrow if spotting hasn't stopped??

think i'm about to stop work too. i'm a pharmaceutical rep and on my feet a good bit during the day. i just think i have reached my limit. Thanks for reading and please let me know what you think!

 

Im sorry that you are going through this. :hug99: If I were you, I would go get it checked out today. If your belly is tight, you could be contracting and it coudl be causing you to dilate even further. You may need to be put on IV antibiotics to get things rid of that UTI even faster. Its better to be safe than sorry. I really hope its nothing, but piece of mind can go a long way. And yes, I would definitely stop working. GL!!

Hey ladies, thanks for your concern. I didn't end up calling the dr. yesterday because the spotting stopped as the day progressed. It is still gone this morning so hopefully these antibiotics are clearing up the uti and the bleeding was happening because of the uti. i'm out of work today and see my dr. again on thursday. i'm thinking about going in to work for 2 light days on tuesday and wednesday and getting my dr. to fill out all of my STD paperwork on thursday so that i can go out of work. what do you all think??

 

A UTI can definitely cause PTL, and I'd probably call the doc just to update him/her. I've never had bleeding with just a UTI personally. To be on the safe side, I'd call the doc. . . the doc might want to see you before Thursday in this case.

Are your babies weighing 1/2 # each or are they weighing 1/2# different? Just trying to understand!

this is true; uti's can cause PTL and you are showing signs; I had uti's and bleeding they put me on bedrest and some macrobid as well--be sure you mention to your doctor about the tightening and other things-did u/do u have morning sickness?

 

hey ladies! thanks for your replies. Emily to answer you question, the girls are 1/2 lb apart. they weigh 2lbs 8oz and 3lbs. 3oz.

i did end up going back in to see my dr. today. the spotting started back up around 9am this morning after what i felt like was a bh contraction. they checked my cervix and it is 3 long and now they are saying i'm NOT dilated. i don't understand...how can one person say i am and another say i'm not. anyway im out on bed rest. they said full bed rest for 2 weeks. i'm not going to go back though after that. i left them all of my STD paperwork to send into work. i'll feel better once it is all filled out, sent in and approved. i hate that i'm taking time off before they get there but i feel like i really need to, to insure they stay put for at least 4 more weeks. what do you all think about all of this? whats the earliest i could deliver them and they be ok??

i look forward to getting to know all of you better. i have a feeling this forum and my computer are going to be my new best friends for the next couple of weeks!!
