1cm dilated / cervix soft and squishy

last week i was long and closed. for the past two days i have been contracting regularly and it's been a little more intense than usual. (i have been conrtracting since 24 weeks with no cervical change) ob checked today and i am dilated and soft.
i am nervous! ob doesn't seem too worried. anybody else experience dilation this early and hang in there without drugs for a few more weeks?

 

I wouldn't be too worried...lots of women are dilated even further than that for months... I was dilated at 2cm for like 3 weeks before my scheduled c/s...and I still didn't go into labor on my own. Just be a little more aware if you feel any pressure, ctx or back pain....

 

that's the problem. i have tons of pressure, lower back pain, etc.

 

If you ever have any doubt, head to L/D! If you are in PTL, the earlier they can get it stopped the better! How are you today? :hug99:

ETA...I was 1cm and soft with contractions all the time at your stage also. I delivered at 37 weeks.

 

I am already 1 cm and have contractions all the time. They are not regular though. My OB does not seem concerned either that I am already 1 cm.

 

I was a fingertip dilated at 31 weeks, 2 cm at 32 and 33 weeks, 3 cm at 34 and 35 weeks, 4 cm at 36 and 37 weeks, 4 1/2 cm when I was induced. I never felt a single contraction this entire pregnancy, not before and not after the epidural. I did start taking it easy at 32 weeks, but definitely not bed rest.
