Here's our schedule. What do you think?

Wake 5:30 - drink 3-4 oz, then go back to sleep
    wake 8:30 - 9am -drink 3-4 oz
    playtime
    11:30- 12:00- drink 3-4 oz
nap anywhere from 30 min to 2 hrs
    2:30-3:00 drink 3-4 oz
    play
    5:30 -6:00 drink 3-4 oz
    bathtime, storytime
    8:30-9:00 drink 3-4 oz
go to sleep between 9-10 pm & sleeps until 4:30-5:30

I really don't think this is enough milk. But once they stop eating, it is impossible to get them to finish their bottles. They have became more consistant with finishing the 4 oz. But there are still times that 3 is all they will eat. This is below what they should be eating in a 24 hour period. Should I wake them up to get an extra feeding in? I just want to make sure they are growing good & getting enough food.

    Thanks ladies!

This is the normal feeding amount for babies that age:

    Age: 4-6 Months
    Total Daily Amount: 32-36 ounces
Number of feedings per day: 4-5
    Amount per feeding: 6-8 ounces

So, yours are getting about 24 ounces right? Some ideas to step them up would be mixing formula with their cereal or oatmeal. (If you have started solids yet).

My guys are on about the same schedule as your twins. With the exception that they are waking up two to three times a night for a feeding....these feedings they only take about 2 oz at a time. I talked to my ped about this and she said as long as they are growing and putting on weight she is happy. I am trying (right now in fact :( ) to get them on a better sleep schedule, so I am hoping the night feedings go away. Talk to your pedi to see if he/she is worried about how much they are taking in.

    Hi Again!

We were stuck at 4oz FOREVER! My twins were much smaller eaters than my other kids were. I think it was 8 months before we got up to 5oz. They also rarely met the suggested daily amount of formula.

My two always drank less than was expected. I used to let it worry me and now I don't know why. I think they're fine. Call the ped if you are really concerned.

My granddaughters are the same age as your girls. One of them still will only drink 2-4 oz at a time. Their pediatrician said same thing as pp: as long as they are growing and gaining weight not to worry.

They sound about like mine, they didn't move to more than 4 oz. for me until about 5mos. when they went from 6 to 5 bottles. I also started giving them rice cereal at 5mos.
