I had an appointment today and it was the first time they actually measured my fundal height. It was only 19-20 cm/weeks. I am 17.5 weeks today, and it seemed a bit small to me, considering I am carrying twins, and I measured 23 weeks at 17 weeks with my singleton!

Is this normal to not measure very far ahead with twins??

as long as the twins are measuring correctly then there is nothing to worry about.. :)

That is fine. I didn't begin measuring ahead until about 22 or 23 weeks. People were stunned when I told them I was carrying twins because I looked like a "normal" pregnant woman until I hit 25 weeks. After 25 weeks I looked full term. As long as the babies are growing according to your u/s and your fundal measurement is growing from appointment to appointment, try not to worry. Good Luck!

This was my first fundal measurement, so I was really taken aback by it being so small. The last time the babies were measured was 13 weeks, and they were both fine (with baby boy even being a few days ahead). The anatomy scan is in two weeks, so I will try to hold myself over until then.

I've always got something to worry about this time around, it seems!

The first time I measured ahead was at 24 weeks, I measured 27. Then at 28 weeks I measured 31.

I also think the measurement itself is subjective and depends on who's taking it.

At my 15 week appointment, my dr said I was measuring about 16/17 weeks. I felt overall I looked about 20 weeks, but that is what she said.

I wouldn't be too worried. My OB never measure me with twins because he said it was too unreliable to be useful. He said it is unreliable enough with one baby but put another one in there and all the different ways they could be laying in addition to maternal factors that may affect measurements and it is pointless. He would just track their growth via ultrasound.

I've never been measured, they just measure the babies each appointment. Good thing, I don't need anything else to worry about!!
