16w u/s what to expect?

Girls,
I will have 16w u/s on Monday. What are they checking? they told me that it woudl be groth scan but what does that mean? would it be like level 2 u/s with checking all organs?
Please share your experience with me.

 

It wasnt until almost 16 weeks that we even found out we were having twins, so i dont know. i did learn the sexes then and that they are identical. The level 2 wasnt until after 20 weeks when they had grown enough that everything could be seen clearly.

A growth scan is usually just that. They will measure them and check that against their gestational age and maybe take a peek at some major organs and you might be able to find out the sexes if you wish.

 

I agree that a growth scan is simply checking the growth and progress of your babies, and possibly the gender. Well, get ready you'll have tons of ultrasounds!

 

***UPDATE***
I got back fom my MFM u/s at 16weeks.
I had both transabdominal and transvaginal u/s
babies are doing good.
Baby A is 5 oz and babyB is 6oz the tech said this is good. ( is it?) They also check the birth canal ( I assume this is cervix) and she told me good 3 cm ( I thought it should be more then 3 but of couse I don't know anything about it)
I asked to predict the sexes and she said it's a little hard but she check the baby B and said that he is a boy ( 90% boy) but she sound like 100%.
with baby was much harder she check with t-a u/s and said that it probably a girl and after she did the t-v u/s she said. that she doesn't see a penis so she is alittle more sure that baby A is girl but 20 weeks u/s will tell for sure.
I woudl be more the trilled if she is right
Also baby A is breech ( buttock first) baby B is vertex I know it's early and they can flip 1000 times.

 

At my 25 week u/s ,my twin b moved from transverse to head down to feet down in 15 minutes! Glad to hear everything went well.
