I haven't been able to get Lena to nap all week. She's also had trouble going to sleep at bedtime this week.

She usually go to bed like 6:30-7PM and wakes up between 5:30-6AM (often with one or two wake up in between). Then, I put her down for her nap around 10:30-11AM. She has been taking only 1 nap since she was 11 months old. I would hate to think at 16.5 months old she is ready to drop naps.

I've tried adjusting nap time, so I've put her down a little later like 11:30. Today, I even tried 12noon, now at 1:05 she's upstairs yelling at me. Yesterday at 2PM she fell asleep in the car for like 20 minutes. I know there's no way she can make it through the day. Last night she went to sleep at 6PM, and woke sometime before 5:50.

I'm wondering if something is bothering her, like teeth or a hidden ear infection. I'm at a loss. She's never been too bad about fighting naps and or going to bed at night. But this week on more than one occasion I've left her in her bed for over an hour, and she won't go to sleep.

    Any suggestions?

Is she working on a developmental milestone right now? I think it's pretty unlikely that she's ready to drop naps altogether yet. Have you tried bumping the nap a smidge earlier? I always try earlier before I try later assuming I've missed a sleepy window.

One day she woke at like 5:15, and I put her down around 10am. She didn't sleep until 11.

She also has had this problem with picking a scab on her forehead. It has become a crater. I keep putting a bandaid over it, but she is taking it off too.

Talking she's trying to talk, and everytime I put her in bed she says the same thing which I cannot understand.

My girls go through phases like this. The last one was just a few weeks ago. They both refused to sleep for almost a full week and I was loosing my mind! I just kept putting them down at the same time everyday. Now they are back to napping, most of the time, but most days it's only an hour to an hour and a half. They just don't seem to need much sleep.

I would personally try a later nap time. My girls are up around 6am and don't usually fall asleep until 1pm no matter how early I put them down. I have to get them up at 2:15 to get my son off the school bus and no matter how early I start nap time they don't seem to fall asleep until then. For us it just means an early bedtime...we start stories for all 3 of them at 6:30, sometimes earlier!

Just keep plugging away. My older son had a couple of phases like that, but ended up napping until he was almost 5. I do think your nap sounds a little early. You might have been luck at noon. Good luck!
