15 weeks & only eating 3 1/2 - 4 oz per feeding?

Ok. My ped told me that the girls should be eating between 17-23 oz per day. They are definetly doing that. Usually around 21-23 oz per day. However, they will be 4 mos old next week & I just read they should be eating around 6-8 oz between 4-6 mos. There's no way my little one would eat 6 oz right now. They are getting very consistant with 4 oz at almost ea feeding, so I'm going to start making 5 oz this weekend to see how they do with that. And I'm sure in time they will work up to that. Just not right now.

Approx how much formula did your 4 mos old drink per feeding? And how many feedings per day? I don't go back to the ped until 7/2/07.

Jess, we were stuck at 4 FOR E V E R!!! I think they were 7 months old before they started increasing beyond that!!

 

My girls were only eating 3-4 oz at a time until around 5 months. Now we are up to 5-6 oz.
They were (and still are) eating every 3 hours, with the exception of night, they sleep through. So, I think they would have 6-8 bottles a day at 4 months.

 

I think my kiddos are only a few days older than yours and we are eating 4 oz at a time. My doctor told me they shouldn't be eating anymore than this. Mine don't act like they want more and are definitely gaining weight so I am not too worried.

 

my kiddos are 6 weeks and eating between 5-7 ounces per feeding. my DD would eat more but i'm afraid she will just puke it up <_< my pedi knows what they are eating and says that it is fine, but now i am starting to wonder if it is too much ??

My first 2 kids were the same way. If they aren't spitting it all back at you, I would give it to them! Great eaters!!

 

Mine have always been little piggies & have been drinking 5-6 oz in 5 bottles a day for a few weeks now. They turned 3 mos old on June 1st. I'm sure your little ones are fine. I think they all move at their own pace. You don't want to forcefeed them or they might just spit it up, you know? Take care!
