my girls are 15 months old and for about the past week, (granted they've had diarrhea and diaper rashes and teething a few weeks ago), they've not been taking their morning naps. they rub their eyes, act really fussy, stumble around, all the signs of needing a nap, and when we lay them down, within 10 minutes they've thrown their bottles out of their pnp's, and are standing up crying or jumping up and down and we give them time to try to fall asleep but they never do, after about 30 min! yesterday, i tried twice to put them down for a morning nap and it never happened. so they've only been on one nap a day, after lunch. now their bottoms are finally cleared up, no diarrhea, and no teething, but is this normal to drop a nap already? they are fussy all day long because they didn't take their morning nap. arghhh!

Mine started to drop their morning nap at 15 months, except I was in denial about it. When I made the transition, I moved their afternoon nap up an hour. You might want to keep moving the afternoon nap up 15 minutes or 30 minutes earlier each day until you hit the right time that seems to work best for them. Good luck!

I had the same thing happen with my first one. One nice thing for us was that when he dropped his morning nap he started sleeping for 3-4hrs during his afternoon nap. Go with what works for you and your kids. Best of Luck

I dropped their morning nap at a year. For the first week or so, Jake was having a hard time but he adjusted. I started by moving their morning nap up by 30 minutes until I got to 11:00, then they would take one nap. It was hard for a good month or two because they would only sleep 2 hours at most which would leave a good 6 hours until bedtime.

I would say around 15 months is when we finally hit 1:00 and now they go down for a good 3 hours.

We dropped a nap at 14 months, so it seems normal to me!

very normal! the average age for dropping to one nap is 15 months (according to our sleep lady) - if your LOs seem ready, i would just follow their lead. GL!

Yeah, I think the healthy sleep habits book, says it typically happens around that time. Mine guys have snuck up on me and done the same thing. They are usually taking on 2-2.5 hour nap, but for the first time ever they are sleeping 12 hours at night.
