My twins had their MMR and Chicken Pox vac 10 days ago. Yesterday I noticed the injection site on my DD was red (wasn't really before). Today it looks a little worse. The pedi told me they might get a fever or rash day 7-10 but didn't say anything about the injection site. I think it is the leg were the chick pox vac went. I can tell it is bothering her when I touch it. Is this normal? Did this happen to anyone else?

My girls had the same reaction to the chicken pox vax. The injection site was really red and swollen, with a hard knot, but they did not have any fever or rash either. They were fine otherwise. It did go away.

My girls didn't have any reaction even though they got 3 shots at their 15 month check-up. I hope it clears up soon.

Sometimes you get a little knot or something from a vax like the chicken pox, I have from the flu shot. I hope it clears up fast. If it doesn't, call your pedi.

Our Ped specifically told us to watch our Chicken Pox vacc site approximately 7-10 days after our injection. He said it typically reddens & can even get little 'pox' like bumps around it. Ours had no issue, but we were definitely warned it could happen, so I wouldn't worry unless it doesn't go away in a few days!

One of my DDs got a reaction at the injection- red, hot to touch and swollen. We were told to give her motrin to reduce the inflammation and ice the spot if she'd let us. GL.
