Hi everyone. We have an u/s next week... I'll be 14 weeks 3 days at that point and am just curious if there is any chance we could get a sneak peak? We didn't find out the gender with our first pregnancy (my son) but for some reason this time, I am obsessed and cannot wait to find out! :) Just curious if any of you found out that early...

We found out [we were having twins] during our FIRST and 20 wk ultrasound apt. I heard that, in order to get accurate results, they prefer to check the gender between 16-20 wks. It also depends on the position of the baby though I'm sure there is a possibility the tech could find out for you, but it might not be 100% accurate.

I was Soo excited to find out what the gender was and taken by complete SHOCK when we found out there were TWO in there! :D

The u/s tech tried to find out for us at our nuchal fold scan (13w and change) and couldn't see anything on Baby B. But Baby A she gave us a 90% chance that it was a boy, as she was almost positive she saw a penis. She was right! A was a Boy!

Then we had another u/s at 17w3d and we got 100% confirmation that A was a boy and B was a girl!

Good luck ... if the tech is good, and the babies are position right, you might have a chance at getting a good guesstimate! I wouldn't necessarily run out and buy any pink or blue yet, but it might give you an idea!

    Make sure you update!

It is possible to find out, but I wouldn't count on it being 100% accurate, especially if they say one or both are girls. Even the later ultrasounds aren't always reliable, but it's easier to see once they are bigger.

We found out at our NT scan appointment as well (around 13 weeks). She said in her expertise (10+ years) it was 2 girls. No if's and's or but's! And she was right when it was confirmed at 20 wks :good:

We "tentatively" found out at our Nuchal Scan at 14 weeks, and two additional US's proved correct.....boy and a girl!

That's exactly what happened with us too. At our NT scan at 12w4d, the peri said he was 95% sure both would be girls, based on the angle of the genital "nub". We were both skeptical that they could tell with any certainty that early, but at our 18 week level II, he was absolutely correct. Two girls!

Hah, our 15 week U/S was wrong! They said Baby A was 100% a boy and B was "most likely a boy". Well, A = Alice.

At 13w the tech said she *thought* Baby B was a boy, looked a little thick between the legs, she couldn't tell about Baby A. But that was her guess at that point about Baby B. At 17w3d we found out she was right, A was a girl and B was a boy. It might be possible for them to take a good guess based on what they see at that point, but I wouldn't paint any walls or buy any clothes with that. Good luck, I hope they can take a good guess for you.

Besides the babies being turned the right way, I think it depends on the level/quality of the u/s machine. We were just a little over 13 weeks and they could 100% tell us one boy and one girl.

    Good luck on finding out!

our tech refuse to tell us at 12 weeks u/s but at 16 weeks she told us that Baby B is a boy 90% , baby A she said cannot se but she doesn't see the pennis so progbably a girl. at 18 weeks u/s they told look like a girl and confirm that baby A is a girl - at our 20 weeks u/s.

We found out one was a boy for sure at 14w6d, but the other they couldn't say because the cord was between her legs. The tech thought it was a girl, but didn't want to say for sure because the cord. At my next appt at 19w they were sure they are b/g.

at 12 weeks they gave us a prediction that we would be having identical girls...this was at our level I scan.

at the level II scan at 18 weeks we were shown very clearly that we were infact having boys!

my sonographer was awesome - she happens to be a friend, but she saw us at 12 wks and 5 days and told us Boy and Girl - and she was right. She was at my perinatologist's office... I think I'd be more apt to trust a sonograph at a high risk office than just at an OB's office... I mentioned to another friend in the presence of my sonographer friend that we "thought" it was a boy & girl and my sonograpgher took offense! She said she wouldn't have told me if she wasn't sure!

though another friend had a sonogram of a singleton at a peri's office... and that staff told her it would be a boy, she showed me the picture... and i wasn't sure why she'd said a boy... didn't look like anything but a cord between HER legs.... yep it ended up being a girl. So... be sure of why they are telling you boy or girl... good luck.

Yesterday I was 12weeks 2 days I went to the Peri apt and had my nuchal scan.. The sonographer who has been doing ultrasounds for several years said she was almost positive baby A is a boy, and baby B she was fairly certain it's a boy and clearly stated that because they are Identical that we are having 2 boys... But she also clearly said "Dont' go buying any boy things until we do another scan.." Today I had my OB apt and she did an ultrasound to see the heartbeats and looked then asked "Did they tell you the gender's yesterday?" When I told her the sonographer said most likely boys she zoomed in and said "Yep definitely looks like 2 boys"...

SOOOO.... Yes it is possible to find out that early.. I found out on both the "high tech" ultrasound and just the portable one the OB has...

Good luck next week at your apt!!
