12 week appt today

had my appt today with the other doctor in the practice, who made it very clear that he is not messing around with this pregnancy. I have my Level II and integrated screening and AFP in less than 2 weeks, then another cervix check sono & appt with him in 3 weeks, then at 16 weeks he is doing a cerclage. He said its your choice, but with all past history and trauma that my cervix has had, it will happen again, and better to be safe than sorry. then he said, "If you were my wife, you'd f***ing have it at 16 weeks no matter what." That was good enough for me. DH and I had mentioned wanting one to my other doc who I love, and she was going to watch and see, and if I needed one, then do it. So now, we are getting one no matter what. Then he said, "As far as your vacation, theres no way in He!! that your going, you might as well cancel that, your not going anywhere more than 10 miles from me. So, now DH and our DS will be going on vacation with my MIL & BIL and leaving me and the girls home. Fun huh!

So I will let you know what happens on the 15.

Wow, pretty strong language coming from a health care provider! I guess he was just trying to get his point across. But I definitely agree that being aggressive is the way to go. Good luck!

 

quite frankly - i was shocked by the language too, but it did seem to be his personality, and im sure he probably wouldnt have spoken that way to an older person, but im glad he is being aggressive even if it means i cant go on VACATION!!!

 

That's great news...I'm glad your dr. is being so aggressive also...there will be the rest ofyour life for vacation!

 

DH and his mother are still going on vacation and taking DS. the girls are staying with me, so we decided that we would spend a day at the Nickolodean Hotel in Orlando, only about an hour & 1/2 away, and everything is right there, so I can just sit and relax while they play, and since it will be 4th of July, we can do the fireworks over there. My mom & Aunt will go too, and maybe my step daughter. A mini girls only vacation. Still not sure about my baby boy going away for a week, but I'll deal with it.

Your DR really means what he says doesnt he! Thats good that he is keep such a good eye on you. Your day at the Nick hotel sounds like a dream Vac. to me!!
