    Hi,

My twins have always woken up at night for a feed. But now that they're 11 months they are still needing to wake up in the middle of the night & the worse thing is they are both waking up at the same time!!!!!!! Poor DH has to come & rescue as they cry their eyes out. They really do get hungry & drink their milk but then they do not go back to sleep for ages...they do not let me go! if I leave the room they cry, are they scared of something in their room??!! We tried cio but they do not stop!!!!! I feel so bad that I go in & comfort them.

Also another prob is that they are not eating well during the day, no matter how hard I try to feed they will not have it!!!!! Pls pls suggest what shall I do??? I cannot get up in the morning & they get up at 7!!!!!! I hardly have time to get ready as their sched kicks in!!!

    Thanks in advance

Could you post their routine? Maybe that would help us give you suggestions. :)

    Hi,

    Their sched is:

    7/7:30 wake & bottle
8:30 breakfast - mainly cheerios they hate cereals!!!
    9:00 Bath
    9:30 8 oz Bottle
    10:00 nap
    11:30 wake & play
    12:00 water
    1:00 lunch - 1 jar of veg & fruit & table food
    2:00 bottle
    2:30 nap
    4:00 wake Water & snack
6:00 dinner - some boiled lentil & rice or veg, fruit, table food - lots of diff food for them to get to eat!!!

It seems they hate eating on their high chair!!!! There is no way I can feed them any other way!!!

Hmmm. I'm not sure what advice to give. You might try a little earlier bedtime. My girls sleep 6:45 - 6:45. They've been doing that for a couple months now. I used to do a dreamfeed for the girls around 10:30pm. You might try doing that. Just go in & pick them up while they're sleeping & give them a bottle before you go to bed at night. Maybe that would prevent them from waking up later hungry? They really shouldn't need to eat at night at this age, so I'm not sure what the problem is. Maybe they're just used to waking up at the same time every night. How long do they cry when you leave? You may have to let them CIO once or twice. I hate to suggest that, but I finally broke down & did it at naptime a while back & after 2 days the problem was gone.

As for eating in the highchair, one of my girls gets really mad every time I put her in it & she gets mad if I give her certain foods. I have no idea what that's about, because she likes to eat. I have no suggestions about this. I just try to make feeding time as fun as possible with silly games & songs.

I hardly feel qualified to answer this as my girls are not sleeping through either! But they are really good eaters and things seem to be getting better in the sleep dept. Maybe try pancakes / waffles for breakfast if they are not partial to cereal? this will be more filling etc. for them? I'm not sure what kind of "table food" they are getting? chicken? veggies? Again - if they are up for it - maybe try to give more filling stuff - pancakes / waffles won't hurt them for dinner - or bread pieces. maybe some pasta? mac and cheese? do they like to feed themsleves? I know I may pay for this later, but I play one of their favorite baby einstein videos during dinner. this keeps them occupied and not too fussy as they are "cruising" all over the place and hate to be confined now. If your babes like to feed themselves - maybe make it a game etc. for them - make it fun - ??? My neighbors probably think I'm a crazy woman during dinner as I sing to my girls - make weird noices - make them laugh - it's probably funny to listen to me if you can't see me  yo baby yogurt is a hit in my house too. They will split one and finish it !! and this is after a big lunch!! I hopw some of this helps - and heres to more sleep SOON!!!!

    Thanks for your response.

I used to dream feed them at 12 but about 3 months ago I stopped it thinking they will get thrugh the night..hmm! Maybe I will try to put them to sleep earlier & feed them before I goto bed. Should I drop the afternoon nap??

As for the high chairs & feeding those are for sure the worse times! I think they want to feed them selves but surly that is not enough!!!

    Thanks

We had to do CIO around 10 months because both of mine started waking up again in the middle of the night, for no reason. They stopped a middle of the night bottle at 6 months. They have always gone to bed at 7:30.

I agree, maybe try and earlier bedtime and see if that helps.

Just have some breakfast ideas for you. My girls like to have wheat toast w/ sunflower seed butter for breakfast along w/ some banana chunks. Every other day I mix a couple egg yolks w/ a little milk & fry it. They love that. Also love the Kashi waffles w/ blueberries.

    Thanks Ladies for yr replies.

I give them table food as steamed veggies, cereal bars, crackers, cheerios..etc. I will try pancakes & waffle from now on too. The thing is because I'm up half of the night I really have no energy in th morning...I lose patience for the fussiness during breakfast. When so you prepare their breakfast??
