What is the typical age for 1 year molars to come in (aside from the OBVIOUS)? My boys are extra grouchy, extra drooly, & are chewing on everything in sight. I know for sure Conner is working on his top 2nd teeth since one has already poked through a bit.

Aiden has his top 4 & bottom 2. Conner has his top 2 & bottom 2 with his other top 2 coming in now.

I've had people ask me if they're working on their molars. I guess I expected them to get their bottom 2 teeth (totaling 4) before their molars came in. What is the usual order? Could they really be working on molars? They haven't really ever been this crabby with their teeth, but thus far, Ibuprofen seems to keep them somewhat happy.

*Of course, this crabbiness comes just in time for our first family 'vacation' to our family reunion 3 hrs away that includes 2 nights in a hotel & lots of time outdoors at a campground....yippee.....

My girls had their one year molars before they were one. They had their molars in before their last two regular teeth came in. It seemed like for quite a few months they had a space between their molars and their other teeth waiting those last remaining regular teeth to come in.

    Andrea,

Elizabeth has 2 molars already. She actually has 11 teeth total. She has had them for a few weeks now. Thomas has 5 teeth and no real signs of any more coming.

I would definately say it could be molars. I am learning how "fun" molars are.

I think we may have molars on the way too....super drooly, fever of 99-100, runny noses...fun fun. Night waking, even after motrin...If motrin doesn't help, don't know what will!!???

Ansley got her 1 year molars right around her birthday in late April. She had 4 top and 4 bottom teeth before the molars. Then she got all 4 molars at once!!!!!!! I was able to see the tips of them for a while before they actually came in. That could very well be what's causing your little guy's crankiness.

Ditto pp for the most part.

Both of my boys got their top 2, bottom 2, then the next top 2 then the bottom 2, then the molars. J's molars came in at the same time when he was 15 months old. L's bottom 2 molars have cut through and the top 2 are getting ready to cut through (very swollen). Not fun times!

One of my girls started getting one year molars around 11 months. The other one only has SIX teeth (!!!) so I imagine she will get hers...oh...maybe in Kindergarten?!

My two have 2 teeth on top and 4 on the bottom. Now they are working on their molars (all 4) and their next 2 teeth on top. It's a teething fest here. Jesse has one point out on the right top molar and Joshua is getting the same point out on the left top molar. The mirror teething continues. It's crazy. I'm actually glad to have the cluster teething. I'd rather only go through this once. We just have a whole lot of motrin and tylenol around. :)
