1-2-3 Magic -- it works!

Hi All:

Some of you may have seen my prior post about discipline for the kids and my DH (who is a SAHD). Thanks to everybody that suggested 1-2-3 Magic. They have a DVD! I borrowed it from our library -- we were on the wait list for a while (must be a popular item), then we watched it together and its like a light bulb went off for my DH! Yay! I knew he would never read the book, but I also knew that he needed some guidance (some tools) on what to do and how to do it.

Anyway, there is still work to do (isn't there always?), but things are so much better in our house now and I wanted to share this with you and thank you for the suggestion.

:yahoo: YEA! Glad your seeing results!! We are big fans of it as well. I read the book, but I wouldn't mind seeing the DVD. Hmmmmm....guess I need to check with our library.

 

I just got the e-mail saying that the library has this on hold for me. I'm going to pick up the DVD today. I've been reading the book, but it's much easier for DH to watch a DVD than read the book as well. I'm looking forward to having the talk with the kids this weekend about how things are going to be changing a bit. I've got one that has been doing really well with his behavior, one that seems to be getting worse (she didn't have all that bad of behavior before) and my 7 yr. old is pretty well behaved, but I want us all to get on the same page. I'm glad that it seems to be helping you guys.

Yay, I'm so glad you found something that works for you! (And, more importantly, that you and DH are on the same page with it.)

 

My local library has the vhs tape. I really want to borrow it, but I dread taking two toddlers to the public library. I almost need a crash course just to get me to the library!
Glad to hear it's working. Extra glad to hear your DH is on the program too. That makes me even more determined to get my hands on that tape.

 

We got the book and my DH just left it at a dr.s office an hour away. So I don't know when I'll be able to go back and get it. I will see if the library has the video. Thanks for sharing!
