Social Media

Hello everyone,

I would like to generally hear your thoughts about social media. For me it's mainly twitter, and sometimes instagram, very rarely reddit that I use, and I can see some numb effects it has on me when sometimes just scrolling through one tweet to another or binging memes. Other than porn however I don't get depressed, it just numbs me for a amount of time and this numbness goes away WAY faster than a foggy brain after a porn relapse.

It doesn't feel like an addiction for me. I can stop doing it or avoid it any time and won't miss it, it just distracts me from boredom and I'm also not regretting doing because most of the time I find something to laugh about or to send to friends. Still, I saw many people here planning to avoid social media to the same degree as porn and I can see where it is coming from.

What are your thoughts and experiences on social media and different platforms in general? What do you think is problematic behaviour and what's okay?

 

Social media is full of lies! Too many people are getting addicted to it and they cannot even tell the difference between good and bad. Like every single thing, you should spend a normal time on social media. For example, there are people who are buy tiktok followers in order to increase their account, having hope that one day they will be able to make money out of this application. Or you can feel really upset about your looks since everybody is looking perfect on social media. The trick is that everybody is posting when they are peaking, not when they are at their lowest
