How Fair is the Leaderboard System in Hamster Run?

So I’ve been playing Hamster Run daily for about two weeks now, mostly doing the races after work and grabbing the daily quests. I noticed I’m putting in decent time, but I’m barely moving up the leaderboard. Meanwhile, there are some accounts just flying past like crazy. Makes me wonder if it’s all about skill or if there's something else going on — like are some players using upgraded NFTs or something I don’t know about?

 

Yeah, I had the same thing happen. I was grinding pretty hard for a while, and then realized a few players are probably running super rare hamsters that give way better speed or bonuses. I only figured it out after reading up on some of the game basics and stats. Honestly, once I got a better character through the https://hamsterrun.games/ , it made a huge difference. Still gotta race smart, but at least now I feel like I’m not stuck at the bottom no matter what.

 

I mostly just log in to complete a few quests and watch the chaos unfold. Sometimes I just leave the game running in the background and check out the art — those little hamsters are hilarious when they trip over stuff. I haven’t really focused on climbing the ranks or anything. Just enjoying the game at my own pace.
