I'm planning to update the siding on my house in Boston, but the weather here is so unpredictable that I’m not sure what material would hold up best. Vinyl, fiber cement, or wood? I want something that looks good and lasts but won’t require a ton of maintenance. Any local recommendations?

  2. Hi, when we updated our home's exterior last fall, durability and style were our main concerns. The Boston climate can be tough on materials, especially with the mix of snow, rain, and hot summers. We ended up going with siding boston https://ubrothersconstruction.com/l-home-renovation-boston through a contractor that really understood the local conditions. They helped us pick a fiber cement option that mimics wood but doesn’t rot or require repainting. We’ve gone through one rough winter since the install, and it’s held up perfectly — no cracking or fading. It also boosted our curb appeal more than I expected. If you’re in Boston, it’s worth getting a few quotes, but make sure whoever you choose knows how to deal with New England weather specifically.
