I bled after my c-section for 7 weeks, skipped a few days and then bled for a few more. I was breastfeeding if that matters. My cycle came back at about 8 months post partum.

My oldest DD was vaginal and I did bleed for pretty much the 6 weeks. Plus if you do too much activity your bleeding increases. With my c-section I bled for about 4 weeks, and it was definitely much lighter than my vag. delivery. Sorry.

ETA: I guess with my vag. I didn't bleed the full 6 weeks due to the birth. At 5 weeks I had a D&C due to retained placenta from the birth.

at 1 week my bleeding had seemed to stop so DH and I went at it and 2 days later I started bleeding again. Then by 3 weeks it seemed to go away so he lured me into having sex again and then for a couple of days after I had light bleeding (dark brown-old blood) and now its ben nearly 4 weeks and im not letting him near me till Im completley done bleeding. I havent had to wear a pad for the past 3 days but sometimes when I wipe there is a little blood. I had a c-section by the way.

Wow, I didn't bleed nearly that long after my son was born (vaginally) - maybe 2 to 3 wks. I know it was definitely done by 4 wks because hubby and I got frisky at that point. :)

Good to know, though, that it can be that long in case it happens with the twins so I won't panic.

I noticed with all my births (all vaginal) that the more I did the longer I bled. My second seemed to be the worst, I guess bc I didn't have the ability to lay around and just chill out with a baby. I know with my first I was not still bleeding by my 6 week check up. I think I bled about 3 weeks and then spotted for about another week. With my second it was at least 6 weeks. With the twins, I had vaginal, but had to have a d&c afterwards for retained placentas and I remember barely bleeding but the spotting lasted a good month.

My bleeding lasted between 4-6 weeks with all my girls, and they were all vaginal births. I gotta be honest though- sex was so far from my mind. I felt like I never wanted it again. I bet it was close to three months before I took the plunge! (I guess I am a wuss, and my husband is a patient man!) :D

5 weeks and then 3 weeks after that my cycle started and has been regular ever since.

I breast fed for just over 2 months!

1 week with both boys - but we are told to avoid sex if possible to reduce the possibility of infection as the cervix takes approx. 6 weeks to close and repair - hence the 6 week mark for re-commencing sex.... but I reckon - that my poor partner won't get a look in for a lot longer than 6 weeks.... god love him...

I don't remember but sex was no where near on my mind. I remember being told to wait 6 weeks and I was more than happy to.

Mine was around 5-6 weeks with all my births, all vaginal. And doctor also told me to wait 4-6 weeks for sex. You need time to heal down there. First time can be uncomfortable. Good luck!!

The heavy stuff was over after 2 weeks but I had spotty bleeding and icky discharge for another couple of weeks after that. I was also in no mood for the first few months mostly because I was EXHAUSTED.

I've been bleeding for 2 weeks now, well over. But I thought it was stopping then it started up again! And yes, sex is far from my mind right now! Besides, I am still pretty sore down there (had a vaginal)!

It was 5 weeks for me, but I made DH wait until 2 months after (and only b/c he was deploying for 3 months and I felt guilty). Doctors won't prescribe the pill until your 6 week checkup so make sure you use protection or you'll end up preggo again! I know way too many people who thought it couldn't happen that early and while they were bfing.

12 weeks for me after a vaginal delivery. It was really light after about 5 weeks and only needed a panty liner. I had a full-blown AF 8 weeks PP and I was breast feeding.

I had a vaginal delivery and bled for about 5-7 weeks. Being so sleep deprived at around that time I have trouble remembering-- . But DH and I waited until a week or so after my OB visit to even do anything. We hadn't done anything for about 3 months at the point.

For me it was two weeks. After that, it has been light spotting here and there. I'm at 5 weeks postpartum now.

I understand about the sex. My hubby keeps trying, God love him. But I've told him we absolutely have to wait until the 6 weeks and my doctor puts me on the pill and gives us green light.

I bled for maybe 10 days but had a c-section, they do get rid of a lot of blood then so I am guess it would make it less time. I also breast fed for 1 yr but still had regular periods every month. You never know what your body is going to do.
