Ok, I'm sure I'll change my mind later on, but this pregnancy seems to be going SO slow and I think it's because it's SO uneventful (which is good, don't get me wrong).

With the twins we found out we were pregnant the day after my grandmother passed, so for about 2 weeks we were consumed with the funeral, family stuff, etc. Then, Christmas was just 3 short weeks after that was all over. We had the excitement of telling our families at Christmas that we were pregnant. So they were all raving over that. Then, a week later, we found out we were having twins...the excitement started all over again. Then, justa 10 weeks later, we found out we were having 2 girls...more excitement and LOTS of shopping. 6 weeks after that I Had my baby showers. A week after the shower I went on bedrest...3 weeks at home and 4 weeks in the hospital (all pretty eventful) and then BOOM, I hve them 6 weeks early. Ther ewas REALLY never a dull moment.

However, with this pregnancy, it's like "Oh, you're only having 1...that's cool." And, that is it! Do you know, I never even got a "congrats on your pregnancy" card from ANYONE? No family, no friends, no DH. Why do'nt people get more excited about 2nd pregnancies?? There won't be excitement when we find out what we are having b/c we aren't telling family adn friends and then it will be a LONG 20 weeks after that with NOTHING (hopefully).

It's not like I'm hoping for eventful stuff like with the twins, but it just seems like this will be a really long pregnancy since it's "normal." Does this make sense? Plus, I have ot go through the entire winter of being cooped up in the house with the girls, etc.

    Just venting!

I was all geared up for a boring pg here too!! my first pg I had 2 u/s... and with just one appt per month until like 30 weeks...it was pretty slow with Emma... then my second pg...the twins... was obviously a lot more busy, even though it was routine for a twin pg. But at least it was a little different for a 2nd pg...I even got a baby shower out of it! yahoo... which is something that doesn't usually happen around here for 2nd pgs. (Unless the pgs are seperated by like 10 years! LOL!) So anyway....I totally thought I'd be bored out of my mind this pg!! Well, unfortunately I had an insane first trimester thinking I'd m/c three times...crazy bleeding episodes trips to L&D for after hours checks to see if the little bean was still hanging in there... sheesh.... I've had 13 or 14 u/s already...(I've lost count!!) but it was at least 11 by 20 weeks...and then a few more growth scans since then... I actually have more u/s pic for this kid than I do for the twins, if you can believe that! So by the time I hit 20 weeks I was ready for a slow down..but my longest stretch between appts was the one 4 week wait I had between 23 and 27 weeks.. after that we went to every 2 weeks... so things seem busy already with the third trimester. And I'm freaking out to realize that I'm soon going to be going to every week appts...yikes... So this pg, although it has been nutty has been the longest pg for me...all those appts in the first trimester really stretched this thing out.. I never anticipated it, but my 3rd pg has been the craziest so far...and there's the vbac anticipation for me too. So I feel like I'm starting all over again with birth anticipation...not knowing what to expect, just like with my first. So far I have yet to have a "routine" pg if you think about it. First pgs are never routine... then the twins...now all this..yikes. Maybe I'll have one more just for a little taste of "this is old hat..."

BTW... is there a reason you don't want to share the gender with family??...Just curious...I could see not finding out at all..but once I knew there's no way I'd be able to keep my big mouth shut!

I know what you mean. I'll be 9 weeks tomorrow and time seems to be standing still. It actually helps that I have the girls to keep me busy, and I just try not to think about being pregnant, and it seem to help time pass. I am dying to go for my first appt to see how many there are. I am sure it is 1, but I'd just like to hear it from the professional, not like I'd really believe him anyway, since he missed the twins until 21 weeks.

Time is going by slow, but I'd take that over excitement anyday! :)

We have just thought about not telling them b/c with the twins it was like everyone knew EVERYTHING before they were born and there was NO surprise factor for anyone! The only reason DH adn I would like to find out is b/c if it's a boy, we haev NOTHING clothes wise. Even if it's a girl, all my girl stuff is the wrong season for a newborn, so we need to be prepared in that aspect.

my girl stuff is all wrong season too!! ugh...thankfully my sister had her first girl baby in the fall..so she's giving me a bunch of her stuff!! I'd never in a million years be able to keep it from my mother...she would hassle me until I told her!

CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR PREGNANCY
My obgyn told me this pregnancy will be so boring I'll feel quilty because I'll often forget all about it. so far except for my pants not fitting rights that's how it's going. I feel that after the stress of the twin pregnancy which was really difficult the universe owes me a easy carefree time.
We haven't told anyone yet so I don't know how they'll react but I get a feeling that there will be many questions like how are we going to handle it etc which I'm really not ready for. I think most people imagine a family complete after two children and anything beyond that is odd to them.
Enjoy the quiet days. Take it easy. :)

Just think we are heading into the holiday season again, so hopefully time will start to move faster for you. Once you get to 30wks and start going every other week, and finally every week to the OB you will realize how fast time actually passes. I felt like I was constantly in the OB's office come 3rd tri. I also had a permanent bruise on my arm since every week at the end also required a blood draw for me. Unfortunately second pregnancies are just not as exciting for family members. You already have kids so they are just so-so with it. So you gonna tell us when you find out what it is?

I probably will tell the sex here b/c I have to tell SOMEONE :) I have one friend who is on here who is a friend in "real-life" but I will probably tell her anyway (it's a group of girls that I met - we all had kids in the nICU at the same time)...it's Ohiomom (Alissa) - she isn't on here as much as she used to be. So, if I decide to tell them (since they have no connection to my family) then I'll tell on here :)

I remember ohiomom!! and I remember you too!! I had my twins March 05...so I think I remember people best who were pg around the same time...although it's difficult to sort out sometimes b/c a lot of you had pics of yourself in the avatar that are now replaced with pics of your kids!! dfault I think was another one in that "class of 05"

I do understand what you mean about it being less eventful. After having twins and getting "special treatment" and the doctor always taking your concerns super seriously, it's weird when you have a "routine" pregnancy. Good, but weird.

I'm so busy with Ava, Bella, and Jax that actually my time is passing pretty quickly so far. I think that will change when it's harder for me to pick them up and move around.

Hang in there. You probably have your big u/s coming up and that's something to look forward to!

Mine seemed slow until I started going to the OB more often, then it went by way to fast! Because now she is here, and it doesn't seem like I was even pregnant long :( I am really missing being pregnant, I think I have come to the conclusion that I am not done!

    sooooooo borrrrring!!!!

I have completely forgotten I'm prego a few times, almost accepting/ordering a drink a few times. If it weren't for my belly getting in the way, I would probably still forget. It's true, without all the hoop-la of a high-risk pregnancy, I just don't feel as special (even though I know I am).

but man that is a nice feeling... being so far along and barely feeling pg...so refreshing from the twin pg where I had heartburn morning, noon and night from week 15 on!!!

Jamie- yahoo for not being done!! And said in the midst of sleep deprivation too!! It must feel sooo much easier dealing with one rather than two at night.. I'm hoping that's true for me anyway!
