Hello Everyone! My husband and I are expecting our first "Children" in July. We had to do a round of IVF due to my health problems and twins were conceived! We are so excited and so nervous at the same time. One of our big purchases of course will be a stroller and car seats. We have been looking around and we never get the same answer twice. I was thinking of it being more logical to buy one nice stroller and never have to buy another one during their tot years. I am looking for the looks of a jogging stroller because we do live in a rural area and I feel like the tires would be so much more functional on all terrains! We have been looking at the Bumble Ride Indie Twin- the only car seat however that it is compatible with would be the Maxi Cosi Mico- I don't like that we wouldn't have much of a choice on the car seat. So would it be better to buy a snap and go with different car seat options and get the jogging style stroller for like 6 months and older. I would LOVE to have all of your feedback!

I felt like options were very limited when it comes to buying a double stroller that will fit two car seats. I decided to buy a double snap and go so I'm free to chose what stroller I want. I didn't think I could afford to buy both (funds are very limited as I am no longer able to work and my fiance and I are students), but I found a used double snap and go at Kid to Kid for $35 in awesome shape.

I'm inclined to agree with the snap-n-go as your first purchase and then buying a different stroller later.

Here's why- I have owned THREE double strollers. And I am cheap, cheap. We had a duoglide first that the carseats fit on, but I didn't like how it handled. Then I had the Contours Twin Sport, but it was a beast to get in and out of my trunk. Then we got a SBS (the name escapes me right now) but we usually use our individual umbrella strollers when out as a family. The money we've wasted on strollers...

Your needs will be more evident as your kids grow and you learn what activities you do alone with them vs as a family.

Congrats on your twins and welcome to Twinstuff!

I bought my Double Snap and Go on Craigslist and sold it 9 months later for the same price. It was worth every penny. The baby seats are heavy enough and don't need a hefty stroller to add to the weight.

I've been a twin nanny for seven years and now am expecting twins of my own. Most of the families I've worked for had a lot of money so I've used a ton of pricey strollers. Best bet is snap and go to start. You should be able to find one used. After that my favorite that I've used is the bugaboo donkey. It is ridiculously expensive but a great stroller that will last well into the toddler years. A cheaper option I also like is the city mini double or the double bob jogger. Strollers can be so expensive but it is the one area I think can be worth it, if at all possible. I would rather buy a used good stroller than a crappy new one. Good luck :)

Ditto the double snap n go, I also bought mine used and sold it for the same price, so I didn't spend an extra penny on it! :D I bought the combi twin sport, an umbrella type stroller next, and it worked good, was lightweight and easy to use. Until I had to push the twins to my older kids baseball games! It didn't work so good all terrain. So I bought a Baby Trend Expedition double jogger, and it became my go to stroller! Loved it! Was one of the slenderest joggers out there, only cost me a bit over $200 online. I was very happy with my purchase.

My twins are now 4, and haven't really used a stroller since age 3.5, and i'm getting ready to sell my double jogger. I don't think you necessarily have to spend a fortune on a stroller to get a good one. And most strollers you can resell for half what you paid for it. I got half back on my combi twin sport, and plan to sell my jogger for half what I paid for it as well.

Our twins haven't been born yet, but we plan to get the double snap n go to start and then maybe get something different once we know what we're doing a little more. Be aware that there are actually two models of the snap n go -- the regular one and the "universal" one. The "universal" one has stadium seating, the regular one does not. If you plan to buy Chicco KeyFit car seats, apparently you need to get the universal snap n go because they will not fit properly in the regular one (according to my research). We saw the universal one at Buy Buy Baby and tried putting the Chicco car seats in it and they looked like they'd fit just fine. (On a related note though, does anyone know whether the Chicco Cortina Together is any good?)

Go with the snap and go ... I have the duoglide and regret not getting the snap and go and then getting the jogging one I wanted for later ... I'll still be getting it but I've wasted a bunch of money on a stroller that is okay but not great. We have a big consignment sale here every season and I ALWAYS see the double snap and go's there for cheap in great condition!

    SNAP AND GO to start!

We are rural also. I don't know HOW rural you are? We got the BOB stroller and it has been worth every penny. Without it i wouldn't get out the door.
There are no side walks near us but lots of land. so i am on grass or back roads. (the orange color is great for the times i am on the road)
It is my only stroller and will be until the kids are walking. It steers so easily i can push it with one hand through a crowded store and pull the cart. Never had trouble fitting through any door. Only negative is it doesn't fold very small so it won't fit in a compact car.
Resell value of these strollers is more than 50% of new price, which makes the price a little easier to swallow.

If you are going to be off road at all get the BOB!

Ditto on the double bob! I love this stroller and in comparison to my singletons's bugaboo frog it is a much nicer ride! I bought a double snap n go and HATED it and used it to take the babies home from the hospital and on one trip to Costco. It was so big and bulky.

When they were tiny babies I would carry one in a sling and one in the car seat or put them both in the bassinet part of the frog. When they were three months we switched to the bob, but used cushy inserts to make it more new baby friendly. I think these could be used even sooner too.

We also used the Double Snap'n'Go until just recently when one of my girls outgrew the infant car seat (they're almost one). We use the Evenflo Serenade carseats and they don't even technically work with the Snap'n'Go (some Evenflos do, though), but they fit anyway. Probably the best value product I've used given that it's not that expensive.

We were given the City Double Mini stroller as a gift. I like it except for the fact that it's hard to squeeze our diaper bag (backpack) into the storage space underneath the seats. But it's really good navigating through stores, etc. My sister-in-law has one and I think her son used it until he was at least 4 years old, so I'm hoping that this is the only stroller we'll need.

Try a mommy clip- it's a giant carabiner that clips onto the handle of the stroller that you put bags on. They sell them at BRU for a few bucks. :)

I was given a used double snap and go for free and plan to use that with used Graco Snugride car seats, the littlest lightweight ones. I had one with my son, and found a matching one on Craig's list -- so total cost for this set up only $30 out of pocket. I don't have my twins yet, they are due by April 26th, but I bought a nice stroller and 2 new car seats that click in better than the Graco Snugrides, which had to be belted in. I hope I love it! I really like it so far. It's the Stroll-Air My Duo. I had to order it sight unseen. It seems great, it's the only other SBS other than the Bumbleride that can accommodate 2 car seats. I chose it over the Bumbleride because I wanted to have the versatility of forward-facing and rear-facing seats and also because there were several car seat options, not just the Maxi Cosi. However, like I said, the Graco Snugride was not a secure fit without using the belt, so I took my stroller to a Buy Buy Baby and tried it out in person with various car seats to find the best fit. The Chicco Keyfit 30 actually snapped in with that nice reassuring "click!" so that I won't have to do the belt across the car seats.

It's a super high quality stroller that can be used from newborn on up as the seats recline all the way. I had considered buying bassinets, but decided against it to save money, and now that I have the stroller, I really don't think I need the bassinet as the total recline is fine for newborns. I was also worried about fitting the stroller AND two bassinets in the trunk of my SUV with all my other crap, so glad to avoid that. (If $ were not a concern, I would get them anyway, they look so nice.) I did splurge on some accessories, such as a hop-on-board for my toddler to stand on and ride, but I don't recommend that at this point, as he would rather not ride. He is 2 1/2. It may come in handy when he is older. I also had to buy the two car seat adaptors to allow the stroller to take my 2 car seats. And I bought the snack bars and parent console thing-ama-jig. I did NOT get the all-terrain air tires, as the reviews said that the normal tires are actually really good on most surfaces, and so far I tend to agree. I had all terrain air tires with my first child's Bumbleride, so thought I would want them, but ... so far so good. It is nice to know I can get that if I need them later on.

I went with the My Duo because I was bound and determined to have a SBS stroller. Don't want one twin getting the front seat. And I really wanted to have a nice stroller option from the get-go. However, if I didn't care about being able to use the nice stroller immediately, and was willing to accept just the snap and go for the first few months, then I would seriously consider the Bob as the Bob users I know and have read comments from all really love that stroller. And it's good and sturdy and not too pricey, available all the time used on Craig's list. It would definitely be a more affordable route and who knows which ultimately I would be happier with? the Bob or the My Duo? Anyway, like I said, the attractive design and seat versatility of the My Duo won me over and that's what I will be trying.

    Hard decision, isn't it?

If I'm not mistaken the "mommy clip's" are actually cheaper at Lowe's, over with the other carabiner's! ;) I have 2 pink and several black ones, the pink was a mommy clip, the other's are the cheaper lowe's ones! ;)

Ideally I would have liked the Bob for walks from the beginning and the double snap and go for the car when they are already buckled in their seats. After about 6 months they started becoming more aware and did not sleep in their seats as much so transferring them was not a big deal. I would say get the double snap and go for the beginning but buy it to craigslist because you can usually find them to cheap and resell them for the same price. I wish I had had one for the first 6-8 months but after that I would have wanted to switch to a Bob.

I just bought my Bob have have cared for 4 sets of kids that I wanted the Bob for but I never wanted to spend the $$. I finally decided that I should go ahead and fork out the $$. My stroller came in the mail yesterday. I bought a orange Bob Revolution SE with the snack trays and handle bar/parent console all for $477. I bought them from MooseJaw.com and I got free shipping because the final price was more the $49. I got it tax free because they do not have a location in my state(they are located in MI, MO, CO and IL) The orange stroller was already on sale then I used the coupon code STYLE for an extra savings that I think was around $90 off. You can buy the combo pack at REI for $599 plus tax. It includes the stroller, snack tray and handle bar/parent console. I was originally going to buy an older model on craigslist for $400 that included the snack tray and handle bar/parent console but when I looked at the manual online I realized that the snack trays are pretty much permanently on or permanently off. It take 6 screws to remove the snack tray so you could not just slip it off. Same thing with the carseat adapter. It is either on or off and you can not use the seat with the carseat adapter on so you would have to use the carseat. The new model has a place where they snap in a out of super easy just squeeze a botton and the snack tray or carseat adapter can be removed :)

I found a double snap and go at Once Upon A Child for $45 today. My husband snagged it in .2 seconds. I see them on Craigslist all the time. My city has local Facebook consignment groups, check to see if your does too!

We have the Baby Jogger city select. I haven't used it with twins yet, but I've been very happy with it thus far. I HATE the mico cosi car seat. It has got to be the worst designed bucket seat out there--big, bulky, hard to carry, awkward handle, can't take it off the base without waking baby--don't get me started, lol.

We did the snap and go with the car seats and I also own the Bumbleride Indie Twin and the BOB duallie revolution. Loved the snap and go for ease of taking the car seats everywhere. Love my bumbleride for shopping and taking the kids to the zoo/on outings. Love the BOB for getting around the neighborhood and going off road through the park. I need to sell my doubles and I am hesitant because it breaks my heart to let them go. The bumbleride is so smooth that you can drive it with one hand and have your other hand free.

I have the Cortina Together- it's very nice, but bulky and can be hard to turn quickly (like in clothing aisles at the mall). But it's not too heavy, folds well, and is nice. We used it for 2 years and now that they're older use the MacLaren Twin Triumph instead. It was nice for the carseats for sure.
