This past week I had some vaginal bleeding. It was the first time in this duration of my pregnancy that I have bleed, and it was brown clotty stuff. I went to the OB and confirmed both babies were doing well and attributed blood to sexual activity. Two days later and I am having more bleeding, similar color but less clotty. It isn't a lot and then it stops, but I think I should go in again today to see if everything is ok I have not been having sex or exercising. I just don't understand why I would be having bleeding now, as I am about to enter the 2nd trimester. I have had ultrasounds confirm the babies are structurally looking good and low risk for the nucal tests. Being 14 weeks this weekend I was ready to tell people (have kept it somewhat under wraps) but now I am getting nervous and don't want to tell anyone until I know everything is going to be ok. Its making me really anxious and I can't figure out why it would happen now. I would think if I was going to misscarry I would have by now. I am not having any cramping at all.

I has random spotting too. I was always told as long as it wasn't heavy and there were no cramps, it was fine. It never hurts to get checked though!

I agree with Erica, never hurts to check it out. The only time I had an issue with it was after they did a FFN test, its to be expected to spot a little after one but my doc still brought me in to check it out.

Let us know what the doc says!

It's probably nothing but I'd go get a quick check to make sure just to put your mind at ease. Did the bleeding happen after a cervix check or sex?

I had a sub chorionic hemorrhage with my boys. It's common(I believe) and I'd probably have it checked out too just to be sure. Peace of mind is a wonderful thing. Good luck.

But I woke up one morning around that same time span like I had my period. I ran to the bathroom and was freaked out. There was red blood but also brown. My ob wanted me in immediately and long story short, it was a SCH.

I bled off and on with my boys. It was usually brown but it freaked me out, too. While I was in an exam a nurse told me I'm sensitive and just the exam was causing a little fresh bleeding.

Just back from the OB and yes, it is a subchoronic hemorrhage. He said that the bleeding may continue but so long as it is not bright red blood or there is no cramping I can just continue on and our next follow up is in 3 weeks. It is a rather large size and unfortunately I came home and hit the web to learn that prognosis can worsen with larger size. Hopefully it will clear up and not be a problem. I braced myself for miscarriage in the first trimester but now going into the second it is very scary to think about a loss...Still comforted to know others have had this and it subsided...

He put you on modified bed rest of any kind? My ob did. This happened on a Tuesday. She pulled me out of work for the rest of the week and I stayed on the couch. I had a small one, and it was reabsorbed. I did go back to work on Friday, and there was a bit more bleeding on Sunday. I remained laying down that day and that was the end of it.

So my only advice is to sty off our feet if/when you can. But through this site, I found out it was pretty common too.

he told me no sex and decrease exercise...but my life with taking care of kids requires a lot of picking up etc. He didn't tell me not to go to work, but I am taking it easy this weekend

I hope it shrinks soon. I have a friend who had a SCH and with several weeks of bedrest (she has no living children so a different situation) it got much better.

I had that at about 8 or 9 weeks. I remember I had a gush of bright red blood when I was at my first OB appointment The DR was so scared I was miscarrying. I was put on 2 weeks of limited activity. I was not even supposed to walk my dog who was probably 30-40 pounds at that time. I remember it was election day, and I was not allowed to go back to work till after Thanksgiving. I had to call my assistant principal and explain why I could not come in for the next 2 weeks.
I would try and take it very easy even if the dr did not put on any restrictions.
